I bought the original kinect because my girlfriend wanted to play the dancing games, I was however baffled by how it was marketed as being groundbreaking and revolutionary, but in reality was a huge unresponsive letdown. So after my girlfriend became frustrated and quit because the "Wii dancing games are way better", it has collected dust ever since. I can't help but think that the exact same hype and expectation building will result in none other than another letdown. If the Kinect 2 is as great as they say it is, won't it stand on it's own and sell in droves because something that great will be a must have product, right? Why the need to force it into the box and take away the choice to opt out for us that don't want it? I liked my Xbox 360, it's a shame they're effectively deciding for me not to buy their next console.
@RaddaRaddaRadda @coldfusion25 Are you one of those people who are intolerant of someone that feels uncomfortable around someone messes with their natural gender? Disconfort doesn't equate to hate, I know that's inconvenient for alot of folks, but try to be a little understanding.
Wow, gamespot is going crazy with the comment deleting, I posted a very civil and respectful comment about how I visit game sites for game news rather than social issues and things that are important to the editors, and it gets deleted? I respectfully express disapproval about an aspect of the site and I'm censored? Yay for selective censorship.
@Zloth2 @clqtte that's not entirely true, consoles are more casual, computers are finally catching up in that area, but it's still a pain if you wanna play games on your pc while sitting on your couch in front of your big tv, you also have to consider money, you pay 400 dollars for a computer it's not going to play games much better than a ps4 at the same price, people are budget minded. Sure they wanna make money, but there are more factors in play than just quality and graphics.
@hystavito Well kids don't drive the gaming market, young adult males do. I don't know about you but I like sitting on my couch with a beer and doing some gaming on my nice big TV. Besides it's not a zero sum market, one thing becoming popular doesn't necessarily push out another. Admittedly there is a console problem, but it's not because of mobile anything IMO. It's because they've done away with mid-budget games in favor of the potential blockbuster CoD games which cost millions to make, and market, requiring a game to sell at least 5 million to even break even these days, Tomb Raider was a great example of this. There is a lot wrong with the industry, but I disagree that mobiles have anything to do with it.
@cjtopspin @NoSoul81 Nah, if government made their own products that would be the case, but they contract their tech to private companies, and unlike us, they have unlimited cash at their disposal. Government in and of itself is incompetent at just about everything, but they can buy competency from private individuals for sure.
