@frozenux @bluefox755 I don't remember anyone saying that, higher res was always a good thing, but there is a point where it literally does become overkill.

Will be getting the much better pc version instead. I guess the Wii U should take whatever it can get at this point though.

@daemonproject @bluefox755 Well, not everything that's the 'future' catches on. Remember 3D tvs? Everyone said they were the future and would be in every living room, now they are anything but mainstream. Kinect was huge when it came out, but it's really kind of fizzled out, honestly I don't think people are that interested in Kinect.

I think they just want to play games, I understand MS is trying to take over every corner of every market, but Kinect 2 is a gamble. I love having a camera on my phone, most people do. Not sure most people are gonna want a camera on their tv though, especially in a day and age when fewer and fewer people are even in their living rooms. People seem to prefer to do things on the go, gaming remains popular in the living room because there is a clear benefit to console gaming opposed to portable.

Statistics, I just meant that you think Kinect is the future like MS does, but there is really nothing to back up that claim aside from 'other technology catching on'. Microsoft is taking the Obamacare approach, taking choice out of the equation in the hopes that everyone will love it 'once they try it', and it will catch on and become hugely popular. I think this is a bit optimistic, especially in a down economy.

My point in the end is, many of us are covered when it comes to multimedia, we have a phone, tablet, computer, tv (many that come with streaming multimedia and many other features), we're covered, we don't need or want a 'multimedia hub', we just want a console primarily to play games, and paying an extra 100 dollars for something that's already covered with other devices seems kind of foolish,

@Snakepond1 Well sony is giving me a choice to buy their camera. MS is telling me, if I want their console I HAVE to buy the camera....I like choices :)

@daemonproject That's my point exactly, I don't want Kinect because I have a camera phone, I have a webcam, I have other devices, I have zero interest in paying 100 dollars for a solution I don't want or need. Why not make it a choice? Because they refuse to give a choice to their customers, they're losing people like me, not sure you have the statistics to prove that I'm just part of a 'few', lol.

My problem with the 100 bucks is, it's funding something i don't even want. I don't care about kinect or cameras, just not interested in it. I enjoyed my 360 and an equal price tag would have made my choice more difficult, but unfortunately they're not giving me a choice to opt out of kinect, effectively deciding for me.

@uchihasilver Yeah, the bullshit comments that "We shouldn't be gamers" or "Get a better job" from Xbots, I gotta think most of them are getting their console from mommy and daddy. Any person who's worked for a living could could surely understand what it's like to work your ass off to pay your bills and feed your family. Some of us are on a budget, just the way it is, but these assholes trolling for xbox have nothing but juvenile BS to say.
