The Slim uses less power, and although it has a smaller battery it seems to last a bit longer for me than my old fat one did. It has more ram (64mb instead of 32mb), which can be used to cache game data so they load faster. The remote/headphones jack is now also a tv out jack, so if you buy a cable you can play/watch stuff on a tv.

In the end though if you're happy with a second hand regular psp, itll probably cost a fair bit less.

You do have a memory stick, right? The basic psp packs dont come with one (they dont come with anything much).

For video's, you'll need something to convert the videos to mp4 format. pspvideo 9 is pretty good, and its free.

Podcasts should work, they're just videos or sound files. They might even already be mp4 files, i cant remember :P.

[QUOTE="pikastar"][QUOTE="Jokul"][QUOTE="pikastar"]

Let see...

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
God of War: Chains of Olympus
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Wipeout Pulse
Lego Indiana Jones
Star Ocean: First Departure
Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Wild Arms XF
Devil May Cry

...just to name a few

For me the PSP is looking fantastic and I can't wait for all of the great games comming in the future.

Jokul

My only issue is that the majority of these are ports of 360 or ps3 games and the Rainbow six vegas port was pretty poor as a game for the PSP, hopefully these will be a better port.

Umm no they arent. 8 out of 11 are brand new games. We alsoknow nothing about DMC so no idea if it is a port of one of the older games or a brand new title. The only one that is really a port of an older game is the Star Oceans I believe.

Ok what I meant is that a lot of the games in that are list are currently being produced for other consoles,

eg. Lego Indiana Jones, God Of War, Devil May Cry, Star Wars the force unleased and Crisis Core.

When this occoured with the R6 Vegas the PSP version lacked the same thought and detail as the other console game, I'm just hoping this doesnt occour beacuse the PSP can run so much better with a decent control system and the graphics are great for cut scences and gameplay alike.

Crisis core is psp only. The god of war game has been designed from scratch for the psp, although i guess ill agree that its hardly original. We know nothing about dmc yet, im still hoping its not just a mere rumour.

The vegas port was a cash-in. I very much doubt any dev would bother putting in the time to make a psp version of that game work properly, if they're releasing it on all the other consoles too. Heck, im not even sure you could make it work at all, since the psp isnt much good for fps games.

The other lego game worked fine on psp. The only one id be worried about is the Force Unleashed, that could very easily go the same way as vegas. Id pick it up on the bigger consoles even if it was good though.

But omg, God of War AND Crisis Core come out next month? This year rules! What is OP talking about?

No, I almost did. EB had a trade in deal, your old one plus two games and ten bucks for a slim, I believe it was. I have two crap games, so I was going to.

But my remote won't work with it, and I don't know where to get a slim PSP remote, so I didn't.

You can get remotes on amazon and ebay and the like.

I got a slim because i managed to break my big one about 2 weeks before the slim released. Which i wasnt too displeased about, overall, i guess. Although, i dont think i would have upgraded otherwise, since i mostly use it for music, and the slim has no new features in that respect.

If we take space marines as they are in either the tabletop game or the Dawn of War series and NOT as they are in the fluff (so theyre pretty uber, tough guys, not completely f'n invincible), then it becomes a tough battle...

Im gonna give it to nomad on one condition - he has a gauss rifle. I think a well placed shot could kill a space marine (or maybe a few well placed shots...). Since he can go invisible and move around real fast and jump up to high places and the like, i think he could beat a space marine 1v1.

As for whos cooler... still nomad, vs a normal space marine. But he loses miserably to a grey knight terminator! Damn those guys are cool.

Definitely give monster hunter freedom 2 a try. You'll love it or hate it, but if you do like it, it'll last you for ages. Also, if you get a friend to get it too, multiplayer makes it awesome.

Well yeah... its hard to play while moving! By portable they mean you can play it other than at home. Me and my bro's can kill a few giant beasties in monster hunter anywhere we go.

Youve pretty much got the right idea. 2 is the same, but has many improvements. Theres no plot in these games, and no advantage for playing through 1 first (you can transfer some items and money over, but you could just earn them in 2 anyway), so you should probably just get 2.

Theres no real way to 'beat' the monster hunter games. I suppose if you kill every monster and get every piece of armour and every weapon... but thatd take several years, probably.

Yes, it works fine on vista, and if you like carbon and mostwanted and the underground games, you probably wont like prostreet much at all.

Halo 3! Nah, just kidding. I love it but its not goty material, being another sequel. My pick is...

Portal ! 2.2 hours of quite possibly the most entertaining, original, funny, and just plain awesome gameplay i have ever experienced. I have nothing bad to say about Portal. Btw, im seperating the orange box up, because if it counts as a single game, it wins, hands down, no argument - it is by far the best gaming deal this year.

Runners up : Crysis, CoD 4, Team Fortress 2, Half life 2 episode 2.

And The Witcher gets an honourable mention.
