Well, when it was the current generation console, games were expensive ($50-$60) It did have a huge library of games though. DVD drive was good, and one upped Xbox by not requiring a special attachment to do it. It did have online support, and again, one upped Xbox until the 360 came out.

When it first came out and was the current generation though, it was NOT cheap. The first Christmas rush I believe the system was $300, $400.

Then it averaged around $200-250.

Currently, it's for sale for $99 new. It's pricing was average.

But PS2 is number two on my list. SNES is number one.

I'm different here. SNES and Genesis were probably my two favorite consoles of all-time. Well, Genesis and NES are awfully close in my book I really can't decide 2nd place between the two. Nonetheless, they are both awesome. Yet SNES is still #1 for me, I enjoy it's exclusives a lot more. And better version of the multiplatform games for the most part were better on SNES when compared to the Genesis.

Let's compare the best exclusives for each. It's easier when it's all out in front of you, and I'm geek so I like lists:

SNES:

Genesis:

1. Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (NES)

2 Some iteration of Street Fighter II (Super, Turbo, Championship Edition, etc.) (SNES, Genesis, PSX Collection, PS2 Collection)

3. Goldeneye: 007 (N64)

4. Final Fantasy VII (PSX)

5. Halo: Combat Evolved or Halo 2 (XBox)
