Greatest game of all time? Super Mario Bros. 3. I played the famicom version before it hit here in NA. I used the honeybee adapter to make it capable to play on the nes. Super Mario World is a close second for My Top 5 Mario Games.I nearly bought a Super Famicom toplay it early but settled on a super expensive Super NES set at the local video store. I think i payed like double the price of retail. Three is Super mario 64.Didn't blow me away as everyone else thought.Still great though.Four is Super Mario World 2. Fifth spot goes to the one that started it all Super Mario Bros. My gaming habit didn't really kick in until 3. Sunshine is good but I can't force myself to put it on there.
Now it's time for Super Mairo Galaxy. Will it make the top 5? Likely.
I usually don't support EA's big franchise. I played the early version's on the snes, but only as rental's. I'm a fan of 2k football titles. I own 2K1 and 2K5 and came very close to getting All PRO, but the interest in Madden this year held me off. Mainly the wii's extra features and the new control scheme started last year. And to be honest I haven't played football online since the dreamcast days. So the thought of finally getting back to getting my but kicked online has me excited. So here's hoping to plenty of great games and high leaderboard positions!!
GO BRONCOS!!
I have many fond memories of going to the local arcade. I remember my mom rewarding my good behavior and giving me a roll of quarters to go blow on street fighter 2. This was at it's peak in popularity and they had the machines set up in an entire row. Crowds always blanketed the machine and it was hard even to see the game in action.
I played many games of super off-road, pitfall, poll position, karate champ. The laserdisk classic Dragon's Lair always left me dumbfounded and broke. A sega game starring a cowboy set in a futuristic setting was quiet cool. It had a huge sculpted cabinet and almost appeared in a hologram. Dang hard and dang expenisve.
One game that still confuses me to this day is a sonic game similar to that of marble madness, but with sonic in a ball. It was controlled with a track ball.I saw it once, returned the followingday and it was gone. I haven't seen or heard of it since.
Once the light-gun games like virtua cop started coming around I lost interest in the arcades. I started getting older and the interest wasn't there. Foor a good while it was the thing to do for a teen and I'll always remember it.
Getting to know gamespot's video feature contains a question related to chucking a game controller in frustration. Yeah ive done it. Many times, but the only one that stands out at the moment is super empire strike's back for the snes. Tough platforming.
I will always remember a good game frustration story ivolving my uncle. Rambo for the nes. Believe it or not, after a rather complicated part in the game,he went through the tedious chore of unhooking all of the components from the television and promply reared back and threw the entire nintendo entertainment system.
He may of been joking or lieing...but it's still pretty funny.
