Isn't the original one supposed to be on live today? Or does it not just get updated till later on in the day?

I was going to buy a 360 in the near future and was wondering if i should pay the extra 100$ and go for the elite. 20 gigs doesnt seem very sufficent to me, but now that the pro has HDMI I'm stuck on the fence. Suggestions?
