Pondering

Do I get Dragon Age: Origins for PC or 360??? I'll have to do a considerable upgrade on the PC to run it.

It's been a while

I took a major hiatus from gaming. Finally fired the Xbox up for the first time for something other than Lost DVD's the other day. I've been playing Fallout 3 for the past week or so and managed to finish up the main campaign. I picked up the Broken Steel DLC so I could continue the story line. I have to say this game is as close to a perfect game that I have played in a long time. I usually have something to complain about, but I can't think of a single thing wrong with this game.

Anyeay, enough gushing. Looking forward to November with Dragon Age: Origins, Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2, and Left for Dead 2 coming out. Just like last November this year will give me a few games to carry me through **** box Toronto winter.

Moving on

So I've finally finished up Far Cry 2 and Fable 2....both were really great games that I would recommend to anyone. I'll be writing reviews for both in the coming weeks when I get some free time. Now it's time to move on to something else since Prince of Persia seems to be a bit of a let down. I'm thinking Fallout 3 and Call of Duty: World at War would be good. Anyone have any suggestions?

So Many Games, So Little Time

Well with so many great games coming out over the last few months it's been hard to decide on what to play. I've been looking for something with great design, story, and gameplay. Pretty much everything when it comes to games. I settled on an RPG and a shooter; which is pretty much all I play anyway. So it's Fable 2 and FarCry 2 and both are great games, but not really blowing me away. Fable 2 is really well designed, but aren't the days of load screens gone in RPG's?? It feels almost non stop after playing WoW for so long. Far Cry 2 as well is pretty cool, but feels a lot like GTA IV set in Africa without the annoying controls (they pretty much just took the controls from COD4)

Anyway, I'll go into further detail in a review about both games once I've beaten them. I am actually contemplating picking up Wrath of the Lich King(god save us all) as well as the new Prince of Persia, and COD:World at War.

nhl 09 how I hate thee

So I've been playing NHL 09 and they manage to irritate me more and more every year. I absolutely hate this game. I've been playing the Be a Pro mode of this game which is about as much fun as watching paint dry and lo and behold you can't score. It's not possible once you make it to the NHL. You hit the post every single time you beat the goalie...I've played 20 games with the big club and have probably hit 50 posts. I have close to 200 shots with no goals...Jason Blake aside this doesn't happen in the NHL.

I love hockey and realize I'm not going to score every game, but this isn't about scoring. This is like all the previous versions of this game. When it used to go invincible to even up games you were way ahead ...if you've played this franchise you know it's true.

I'm going to write a review of it soon....I can't right now because I am so filled with hatred for this pile of crap game.

Summer's Done

So summer is done and it's time to get the 360 firing again. I'll definately be getting back on the couch and playing some NHL 09, The Force Unleashed, and Lego Batman in the next few weeks. Then in October Far Cry 2 is coming out and that game just looks sick. There will however be no Rock Band or Guitar Hero going on....I got over that pretty quick. Let me know what you guys are gearing up.

Sick of GTAIV

Well my copy of GTAIV is gonna be back on the shelves of EB by next week. Not quite the "perfect" game it's been made out to be. Read my review of it if you get a chance.

This Week

So since I've had some free time this week I got around to finishing 100% of Lego Star Wars which I must say was a more daunting task than I had imagined, but tons of fun. After I finished that off I decided to pick up GTAIV which is pretty sick. The graphics and models leave a bit to be desired, and the combat system is a bit cumbersome, but the voice acting, storyline, and overall gameplay are fantastic. I've also been going through Call of Duty 4's single player campaign on Veteran to score some more Xbox gamer points. It's exactly the same as the easier difficulties only you can't take as many shots to the melon.

Gamespot Gives It's First Perfect Score in Seven Years

Gamespot Gave Grand Theft Auto IV a perfect score. I'm a little intrigued to play it now even though I've hated every one since the good old top down GTA2. The screen shots I've seen don't look very impressive, fairly low poly characters and no depth of field.

100% Yeah

Working on finishing 100% of Lego Star Wars II. There is so much hidden content in this game it really makes the replay value awesome. Being a star wars fan probably makes it more enjoyable and more tolerable though. Can't wait for Lego Indiana Jones.
