Your missing one important thing though. The nastalgia factor. Nothing will ever be greater than the first time with "that game". It won't. your are comparing things from when you were ten to now. Obviously you have been desensitized to the fun you once had. every is the same. Nothing will ever compare to ocarina because it was SOOOOOO groundbreaking. Once a game arrives that is that special and innovates that much, then you will have revitalized your sense of "this is awesome". Think about it SM 64 and Oot were the first games of there franchise to do 3D. you cant really outdo 3D unless VR becomes attractive. Now when you look at SMG and TP they are just the next generation. They are still in 3D and they use the same mechanics. The only have slight differences. This is why it doesnt seem as good. As for it being Easy that is very simple. Nintendos current strategy it to appeal to the casual gamer. So Zelda and Mario have been "dumb downed" a little, for that audience. If Nintendo wanted to make harder games all they would have to do is increase puzzle difficulty and ramp up the AI. but they wont do that.

I know this is really late but whatever. I got galaxy on the day it came out. I have gotten around 60 stars so far and i love it. Apparently everyone else does as well considering it is now the top rated game of all time according to gamerankings.com. It is very fun and some of the later levels are a real treat. the game fluctuates the difficulty at times to please the hardcore mario fanatic but doesnt stray from the casuals as well. The controls are easy and fun only i do have one complaint with them.

There are times when you will go upsidedown on a planetoid and the controls will kind of bug out. they will be backwords sort of. its hard to descibe. multiple times i have been playing and im trying to chase something down and the controls prevent me from doing so if i go upside down. i thought it may just be me, but i noticed that it also happened to my friend when he was playing it. "OH God the controls just teaked out" were the words. Its not a major issue but a little annoying at times. Has anyone else had this proble.? or noticed it slightly?

Other than that and the GOD AWFUL VO when you click the channel, the game is Spectacular (come on you know what im talking about, lolz, Charles Martinet (mario's voice) Screams out SUUUUUUUUPPPPPPERRRRRRRRR MAARRRRRIIIIIIIOOOOOOO GAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLAXYYYYYYYYY. yeah i find that annoying. lolz. just kidding. Yeah this really is a groundbreaking title on the wii and it shows that the wii can produce spectacular games too without them feeling "gimicky".

[QUOTE="ninjavelmor"][QUOTE="bofe1234"]I might rent it. Its just another WW2 shooter, only with the best controls known for a console FPS. i guess that is my justification for renting it, but the combat will wear thin, and with all the people playing Halo 3, its unlikely to get games moving fast and efficently.ljlrj

you should take the time to read IGN's lastest impression, they say even though it is a WWII shooter it plays alot different then most of them.

As a matter of a fact, i have read the impressions. :). But just from personal experience, playing numberous WW2 shooters it will be the same old thing. You played one you played them all. Controls alone don't grant another run through NAZI infested warzones. lol

that wat i said till i saw the vid and read about it

I'm still going to rent it, just to see if it lives up to the hype, but from all the impressions and videos ive seen, it just doesnt look all that special (besides the fast controls). Matt C. has said good things about it, but still.

Been my most anticipated game ever since i saw it at the E3 when it was unvieled, alongside the wii. It never changed, and i will most certainly be getting it at launch to soak up its perfectness.

So I was thinking of this not too long ago, but if the Wii & DS keeps on sealing this well when the next generation arrives wouldnt that make it harder for nintendo to move on as well?

For example the DS,everyone should know that its selling well and its been around for almost 4 years. So it would seem crazy for nintendo to just say the next hand held is coming out by next year because theirs still a large profit to made off the DS and the same goes for the Wii if it can keep up its momentum.

example: ps2 taking away from ps3 sales

"now for the ps2 and ps3"

why buy it for ps3 when you can get it on ps2?psoesm

It's just the cycle of systems. Granted the wii and the other consoles still have many years before a change, no amount of sales momentum will stop another console from coming. Consumers want thelatest and greatest, and the companies are sitting on the hardware as we speak. For example. Nintendo had gamecube chips ready for their next handheld even before the DS was released. But since nintendo uses the "blue ocean" strategy, they wanted to see if there touch based console could shake the market despite less than steller graphics. it did. But in time, we will see a "DS 2" and "Wii 2" even though that wont be there real names.

Probably a 9.0 just because gamespot is bias towards wii (personal opinion) and generally grades lower than IGN. IGN has confirmed that they are going to give it between 9.5 and 9.9 in their podcast, so just on frequent occurances, i see GS giving it a 9.
