Six Years Ago, Today...

…I was a lowly Level 1, with no Editorships. But, through hard work, and perseverance, during that 6 years, I have attained Editorships on 18 shows, and risen to Level 35, a 2-level rise, during 2011. With a bit more free time on my hands, during this past year, I was able to dig for information for some of my guides, keeping them as accurate and up-to-date as possible, and I intend to continue doing so, during 2012. I've found that – Despite the chaos of another 'New Look', and the goofs and screw-ups, and controversy that came with that change – Quite a few people still come to TV.com for information on their favorite TV shows, and I have no intention of letting them down.

Five Years Ago, Today...

…I was a frustrated member of TV.com, trying to re-establish a foothold on the site that I'd lost, due to a foolish mistake during the transition from 'TV Tome'. But, in that 5 years, I've more than made up for that, having risen, now, to level 33 (Just one level, in 2010), with 17 Editorships to my credit. Not nearly as high, or as much as many other members, but I'm very proud of my accomplishments, nonetheless. I was very busy during 2010, and wasn't able to devote nearly as much time to my hobby, as in years past, plus, I had some major life-changing events, not the least of which was having been forced to retire from my job of over 36 years. Though I did get a bit of a financial 'cushion' from that, I still have to secure other employment, somewhere, and soon. Even with that, though, I managed to gain another level, and attained Editorship of still another show. Not bad, considering. In any case, I still intend to devote as much time as possible to my guides, and do my very best to keep them maintained, and up to date.

Four Years Ago, Today...

Well... It's been four years, now, since I began my TV.com 'career'. And, though it's still a fun hobby for me, and I'm still quite enthusiastic about it, I haven't been able to devote as much time to it, as in years past. For instance, in '08, I went from Level 20 to 29, and added 4 new shows to my list of Editorships. By contrast, in '09, I went from level 29 to 32, and added only 1 new Editorship. But, I've been pretty busy with my job, and have had other distractions, and - As we all know - The higher one goes, in levels, the tougher it is, and the longer it takes, to advance. And, for one like me, who doesn't blog, or hang out in the forums, it takes even longer. Meantime, I'm still working with my guides, staying on the look-out for new information on them, and keeping them as accurate, and as up-to-date as possible. And... Who knows? I may do some digging, and even find a stray guide, out there, somewhere, that needs an Editor, and some improvement. But, for the time-being, I intend to keep on trying to please the public, with the best show guides that I can deliver.

Three Years Ago, Today...

Back in January of '06, after an initial period of anger and frustration, I went to work, as an active member of TV.com. After the first year, my enthusiasm had grown, exponentially, and I was up to level 15, and had attained Editorship of 5 shows. After another year, I was up to Level 20, and had become Editor of 10 shows, and, in this past year, I added another 4 shows to my list, and advanced to Level 29. I'm not climbing in levels nearly as fast as most others, as I try to concentrate mostly my own guides, and I pretty much stay out of the forums, unless I have a question about something, or need help with a particular problem. But I do, however, try to write an occasional review, here and there, for my favorite episodes of my favorite shows - 'Sanford And Son' in particular. TV.com is still quite an enjoyable pastime for me, and I intend to keep working at my guides, making them better, and keeping them accurate, and presentable to the public.

Two Years Ago, Today...

It was two years ago, today, that I decided to become an active member of TV.com. During the TV Tome days, I was Editor of 3 shows, all of which, I lost, during the transition to TV.com. There is a very strong possibility that that was due to a system glitch (TV.com have a system glitch?! Imagine that!), but, to give them the benefit of a doubt, it could very possibly have been that I submitted my transition request a little late - It's just been too long ago to remember, for an old guy like me. Whatever the case, I was angry, frustrated, and bitter about that for about 6 months or so. But I decided, 2 years ago, today, to get re-involved, and made up my mind to earn back the shows I'd lost. I was successful with only one of them, but I have - In the above-mentioned two years - Become the Editor of 8 other shows, and gone from Level 1, to Level 20, which was more than enough to make up for the loss of the other two shows. I've turned TV.com into a kind of hobby, and, despite it's being quite frustrating, and even stressful, at times, it's a lot of fun. It's also very gratifying to know that my work has been published, and is seen by thousands of people, every day. I intend to keep on keeping on, with my guides, working to make them all better, though, with my time divided, now, with so many to look after, I'm working somewhat slower than I was, 2 years ago. But I hope that all who see them, approve.

Man! This Is Fun!!

Well, even though I’ve never really been away… I’m back. I was pretty sad for 3 months or so, but I feel much better now. When I logged on, on January 3, I was up to 13% (How I got that, I don’t know), and, after doing a little research, and studying the rules and regs, I added a couple of shows to ‘My Shows’, and… Whaddaya know?!! The next day, I was up to 16%!! A few more additions to ‘My Shows’, and some ratings, and the next day, I was up to 30%!! By now, I’m saying to myself: ‘Man! This is fun!!’. Today, I was up to 38%, and I posted my ‘About Me’ article. Can’t wait to see what I’m up to, tomorrow!
