40 and Counting

Warcraft has dominated my gaming schedule yet again...  I seriously can not get enough of that game.. so awesome.  Anyway I'm just enjoying a slow Friday at work and looking forward to the Super Bowl on sunday.  Oh yeah, speaking of Super Bowl.... My uncle Gary works with a guy who knows a guy that is part of the Denver Bronco's organization.  This fellow gets two super bowl tickets for free, apparently because he is part of the team.  So anyway his deal was that if the Broncos were to beat Pittsburgh and go to the super bowl he was going to go to the game, but otherwise he was just going to sell them.  As we all know, the steelers won and the tickets ended up getting sold to my uncle Gary.  So now the plan is that Gary and Bob (my other uncle) are going to the game.  But wait!  Gary thinks he might now want to go for whatever reason so my Dad jumps the opportunity and offers him $600 for a ticket.  This all took place about a week ago.  I find out yesterday that my aunt Karen nixed any plans by selling the tickets to an independent broker for $1000 a piece.  So she made $400 per ticket, as they only paid $600.  So basically now my Dad, and especially my uncle Bob are pissed at Karen for ditching the tickets.  Even I have a reason to be ticked at her too -- my dad tells me today that if he would have gotten the ticket then he would have given it to me as an early birthday present..... so yeah I could be going to the super bowl with my uncle Bob.... memories to last forever, once in a lifetime opportunity, but instead my aunt Karen is now $800 richer....kinda sucks.

Gaming front is the same.  World of Warcraft dominates.  Macehayabusa is up to 40 now (got my mount) and Vergilsparda is up to 16.  Mundus sits in last place with a 9.

The Yo-Yo

Thats what I was called at work today; the yo-yo.  I suppose it is appropriate though, since my schedule has changed a lot lately.  First it was 3-12, always had been.  Then Jeff gets this magnificent idea to fix our problems!  By that I of course mean terrible idea that doesn't fix any problem.  I wont go into detail but it involved me coming in at 5 and working til 1:30.  Which isnt terrible or anything but the adjustment took some time.  So anyway after I get adjusted to that schedule Cheryl tells me that Carol is going on vacation next week and they are going to need me to come in at noon and work til 8:30.  So basically I went from 3-12 to 5-1:30 to 12-8:30 in a matter of about 2 weeks.  All I can hope for is that it earned me some brownie points because I sure as hell didn't get anything extra for it.

Anywho, on to the games!  Right now my world is being ruled by Call of Duty 2 (X360), Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition (PS2) and of course World of Warcraft.  I have also meant to start playing Project Gotham Racing 3 again but it just keeps slipping my mind.  Im up to level 39 with Mace, 14 with Vergil, and 9 with Mundus.  My plan is to play as Vergil and Mundus for a while so my buddy Baak can catch up to Mace. (I think he's at 36 now)  I desperately want to get Mundus up to level 11 or 12 so I can move him to the crossroads and I want to get Vergil up to about 17 or 18 so I can start making Wailing Caverns runs with him.  I LOVE the fact that magi can conjure food and drink.  I also love the fact that you will barely get touched as a mage thanks to the insane damage your spells cause.  :)

Back to work....

Oh, it's Special

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition has hit storeshelves and more importantly my ps2, and lets just say im not dissapointed.  I'll likely be playing it all night tonight.  You know one thing that is kind of messed up though?  Im super excited about the game but a thought that i just cant shake is that ill be earning rested status all this time on my World of Warcraft characters. hehe that game is truly one of the best I have ever played.

I also have another character I'd like to add to The Untouchables -- Sephiroth, of Final Fantasy 7 and Kingdom Hearts fame, a true badass and very intimidating.

Special or Not?

Tomorrow Devil May Cry 3; Dante's Awakening Special Edition comes out.  I am so ready!  I've been brushing up on my dmc skills and I really can't wait to play as Vergil, the turbo mode, and the bloody palace.  Seems this is the only game that will be able to peel me off of the computer monitor long enough to stop the life sucking grip of World of Warcraft.  I love gohewld!  I have a lot of extra gold thanks to my friends at Neutral Ground and I must admit it has given me an unfair advantage against even level creatures and in dueling.  Last night playing as my 36 Tauren Warrior, I ripped through countless level 40-42 humanoids, only having to eat every 3rd or 4th mob.  Now I'm at 37 and I desperately want to reach level 38 because I have an epic weapon waiting for me by the name of Ardent Custodian.  The next thing to look forward to would be 40, for warrior abilities, PLATE armor, and of course my mount!  I've already bought myself a few plate armor upgrades for when I reach 40 and another epic weapon for when I reach 43 called the Warden Staff.  Very cool stuff, Blizzard, you rock!

Guarded Optimism

Today I talked to Berger and we planned on him coming over at 10 am tomorrow.  We'll be reformatting my C drive.  IF everything goes well, I can get back to my one true vice in life right now..... World of Warcraft! god do i love it.....  It is kind of sad that the only reason I want my computer fixed is so I can play a game, but whatever!

Computer Trouble

My computer finally bit the dust.......after 2 months of owning it! grrr.... this angers me to no end.  I hate whoever creates viruses, in fact I hope you, Mr. Virus Creator, catch the meningitis virus.  Anyway, not the end of the world, just have to reformat the ol' C drive.  I dont know what Im going to do about World of Warcraft though.  I sent an email to Blizzard explaining the situation, I sure hope they can help.

This is my computer at work by the way.

The Untouchables

I have decided to create a "league" if you will, of characters from games, movies, and etc.  It is going to be called "The Untouchables"  The point is that everyone has their own opinion about who is the biggest badass in all the land, but in reality how are we supposed to decide who would win in a fight between Vergil Sparda and Ryu Hayabusa? or Samus Aran vs. The Arbiter?  So The Untouchables are characters that I could simply never imagine losing to a single opponent.

Heres what I got so far.  Dante Sparda (Devil May Cry), Kratos (God of War), Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden), Vergil Sparda (Devil May Cry), Mace Windu (Star Wars), Samus Aran (Metroid)

Recovering

It took a while but i think im recovered from Smith's death.  He was a great guy, you know what he'd say about it?  It's a shame we can't blame Bush.  Thats what he'd say.  lol Smith

Anyway on to the video game front.  I got some good stuff for Christmas and I've been playing furiously but I must admit WoW is getting harder and harder to stay away from.  Im currently sitting at level 29, long way to go I know, but sheesh what an addictive game.  I also picked up an HD system selector as well as some component cables for my PS2.  I mean here I am with an HDTV for 5 months now and I've been playing with composite cables for all that time.  Then when the 360 came home and I saw the outrageous picture quality I finally realized what I was missing.  I think I'll look into picking some up for the Gamecube too.

Christmas rules.  I got Call of Duty 2, Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2, and Condemned.  COD is just flat out great, very exciting beating back the fascists.  I've never played Viewtiful Joe so I didnt know what to expect out of it, but after an awkward transitional period I gotta say, that game is fun as hell.  Condemned is another good one, hard though.  Ive only played probably around 2 hours of it so I guess im still learning, but the combat is pretty unforgiving.

I absolutely can not wait until Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition comes out.  Only 20 bucks? playable Vergil? Bloody Palace? I'm sold.  Also looking forward to Twilight Princess, Gears of War, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Black

Needless Death

Today I received some horrifying news.  One of my best friends and U.S. Marine PFC David Warren Smith has died in a useless debacle of a war.  I sincerely hope that there is a God and he/she/it has seen what Dave has done.  This type of event makes you wonder what life is really all about.......... why are we even here? what is important? anything? video games?
