To me the console war doesn't begin until all three systems have been released. So for the microsoft fans we aren't quite there yet. I have seen many threads in system wars about a three consolse and i will give you my take on them. So with that said lets dive in.
Now to start off let me say all three systems have there strengths and weakness. The most powerful of the three is the ps3. There is no denying that fact. But no matter how you cut it the price is a big factor in how well it will succeed. Yes when it first releases stores are going to be hard pressed to keep it in stock. But the true test comes after the holiday season and i can't help but feal that it will suffer the same fate as the 360. And I am sure that blue-ray discs are a good thing with this system. Also the graphics are going to be wonderful with or without a hd tv. The controller being good or bad is entirely a matter of opinion of the individual. Now sony fans are going to have to expect that some systems in the initial launch are going to have problems. Look at the 360 and there problems. The ps3 is even more complicated machine than the 360.
As for the 360 it was first to the market and that will give it a good lead over the other two. But the launch was kind of rushed i believe. If microsoft had waited an extra year they could have had a spectacular launch. The main problem i have with the 360 is the games. If they had waited they could have all the titles they have now and the titles they plan to release this winter to combat the ps3.
Now for the underdog. The nintendo's wii is considered just a gimmick by others. It is a gimmick but it is a gimmick that may work. Nintendo has been making video games for nearly 20 years and thats longer than sony has. So don't count them out just yet. And just as with their DS the wii could be the savior of nintendo. But they have made a few mistakes. Them not making it as powerful as it rivals could be considered a bad idea. But that one is also one that is largly a matter of opinion. And like many have said the new wii-mote may flop but i am willing to wait and find out myself.
Now in closeing i would like to say that in the end of looking at specs and knowing how powerfull a system is not much of that matters. Because in the end a system does not win a console war by being the most powerful or having all this multi-media extras or even having a new remote. What wins a system war is the games. Games are the back bone of a console and without the games all you got is a lot of hardware thats not worth anything at all. Its the games that drive us to buy a system . All three systems are going to have great games weather they are rehashed or not. And so those are my thoughts on the three new systems coming out.
