Day 2, Stage 2

September 13th, 2007

Thanks to Brina for pointing me out which month do we live in :)

I gotta confess I don't recycle as much as I should. I'm all up for saving some of this wonderful world we live in for my grandchildren, but honestly, having like 4 trash bins gets on my nerves. So I gotta have paper and cardboard, plastic and metal, glass and then just organic trash. Ooh, right, and then a proper container for burnt oil (we do use tons of oil in Spain) So 5 bins. Hello? I live in a small apartment, I would stumble all the time on them. So I mainly recycle paper and the rest just sometimes  I know, I know, I should be more thorough but well, I get cranky seeing all those recycling bags and bins around. I'm an order freak so it totally gets on my nerves. Let's see when I move in with my bf (if my apt doesn't fall in pieces before, oh the joke, the irony) because I guess he is gonna like having the 5 bins around *sigh*

Calvin and Hobbes is propriety of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate

Well, kisses can't be explained, can they? Or what you feel when you kiss, when you are kissed, when you touch, when you are touched, when you love and you are loved. So Hobbes made the best he could to show him: he kissed Calvin. LMAO. "I was hoping it wouldn't be so fuzzy" Aren't they just adorable?

On the personal note, nothing really worth mentioning. Crap and more crap around. The apartment is still a mess, the plumber and the carpenter are getting on my nerves altogether and I'm honestly tired of shouting at them at the top of my lungs. I'm afraid to slap them one of these days. I'm so mad and so sad I'm not even me anymore. Well, I'm fine really, just mentally ruined and really confused.

You know? I carefully planned and took these days off work to do the the moving together with my bf and now we both are just watching them go by, gettting nothing done. And so it seems that we have to wait a bit longer, because now the whole floor has to be removed due to the water flooding. So we gotta dismantle the furniture, the fitting wardrobes and empty the place. Easy to say, right? *pulls out hair* It is just so frustrating. And helplessness is so hard to deal with...

What it I tell you that it's been 3 years since we bought the apt, and that the last 2 years have been a series of breakdowns, the one after the other, eternally postponing our moving? I totally want to sell the damn place but bf doesn't. We redemolled every single inch to our taste, and now it would s*ck to start all over again. *huge sigh* We'll see... :(

To my KG sisters, my Pirates and my friends in general: I'm awfully sorry not having been there for you lot lately  I'm not the kind of company to keep, believe me. I'll get all happy and prudely kinky soon and I shall join you all back.

So moving on before depressing you any further...

I'll carry on with Penny's visit, because Saturday afternoon was real fun. After walking loads in the morning, we decided to go for a swim in the ocean in the afternoon. So bf came pick us, then we got the boat and off we went the 4 of us: Penny, bf, bf's sister and I. We dove, swam, have a lot of fun. The water was nice. Penny and I were really clumsy to get aboard so we pretty much remained in the water

And this is me. Penny took this pic. I love to float in the water. See nothing but the blue sky. Close my eyes and listen to the seagulls. Be rocked by the waves.

We were tired of swimming, but the afternoon was so nice that we went to the other side of the coast, and took a second bath. First we headed right, then left.

It was relaxing but exhausting at the same time. Jumping, getting aboard, jumping, swimming, diving...we spent two hours having fun and then we headed back. Penny drove the boat for a while, it was good fun. Once at home, we took a shower and got ready to leave again and watch the fireworks.

My mum made us some txistorra (pork meat) sandwiches and we also grabbed some bites of my parents' dinner while we were waiting for bf to come pick us. Penny is such a grateful girl, she loved all the food. And we tried quite a lot, because bf, just as I suspected, took his time to get ready. Honestly, he is worse than a woman. He takes ages to get ready. Plus it was too late to drive to the city center (there was no way to find a parking spot in the late evening) so we went by bike. Luckily enough Penny wasn't afraid of bikes so bf and his sis take one and Penny and I took the other. We wanted to park by the Shell Beach, but the only available spot was the surroundings of the Maria Cristina hotel (the celebrities' hotel) because most of the streets are closed to avoid people getting injured out of the remains of the rockets that fall from the sky.

Thanks to my slow bf, we arrived a bit late, so as we were approaching the city center the fireworks started. I was a bit pissed. We were driving by the Zurriola Beach and the fireworks were exploding in front of us. Penny told me later that she totally loved that moment :)

We totally forgot on Friday because we watched the fireworks up from the mountain, but after the fireworks, the fire-bulls are released. Yes, bulls  But they are fake bulls. The fire-bulls are cardboard shapes carried by people. They have a series of rockets attached to their backs, and they keep on exploding as the fire-bull runner pursues passer-byes. They suddenly turn back and run against the crowd to catch people under their fire. It's silly but kinda fun at the same time. Here's a picture.

After the fire-bulls, we went to have an ice-cream. It is a tradition to have one after the fireworks so the ice-cream parlour had an immense line. But it was worth the waiting and we enjoyed a great ice-cream as we headed towards the funfairs. It was just packed in there. We saw a lot of famous people (well, famous in here): local singers and a few tv people. The festivities bring everyone back to town. And as we were walking, we saw this infamous attraction: it consisted of a base with several arms, that spun around the base. But at the same time, each arm spun around itself. It was crazy. We all looked to one another and decided to give it a go. By the way, for all those soccer lovers, the second trainer of Football Club Barcelona (a basque guy and former player) was taking a ride with his kids as we were waiting our turn. The attraction was a lot of fun. The ride was crazy: a mixture of fear and fun. We shouted like hell

We had a walk by the funfair and then went back home. We were tired from the walk in the morning and the bath in the afternoon and next day we agreed to go to Bilbao to visit the Guggenheim Museum. Since we had to wake up early (Bilbao is a one hour drive) we went directly to bed. As most of the cats, Kika is a sneaky one and she hid under Penny's bed. She said that it was alright, that she'll leave the door open until Kika got bored and just come out again. But so I heard next morning, Kika changed her hiding place and since Penny checked under the bedroom and didn't see her there, she closed the door, only to be startled a while later by Kika jumping on her

One last thing. Silverlions and Tvnut seemed to like the old Roman bridge. I promised to find more pics but I just could find this one.

Believe it or not, it's me and my dog Hotz on top of the bridge. I thought I had better ones, and I probably have but now I just can't figure out in which album do I have them saved. So this should do it for now :)

So, Guggenheim museum for tomorrow, or honestly, for when I feel like blogging again. Not a big lost, I know. Huge hugs for all :D
