My trip to JJ's - Part 1: Girona

As some of you know, I recently got the chance to return the visit that JJ made me last summer, and I got to spend 4 wonderful days with her :D I'll spare the words and go to the pics. I'm sorry if it's boring, I wasn't really keen on posting them since it's just sceneries but I have to respect the privacy of the people I spent those days with. On the other hand, I have had to endure a lot of pressure to do it *glares at Gwen* and add to that that JJ didn't take any pic so well, I made my best to select some between my over four hundred LOL. Here we go with the first part of it.

I live to the west of the Pyrenees and JJ lives to the east, so it takes a 6 hour ride to make it. I chose the French route since it is almost an hour faster. It is a really nice view since the Pyrenees are almost all the time at sight. Here is the French side of the Pyrenees from the car.

The trip took half of the first day, so pretty much talked for the rest of it. Next day we visited Girona, the city where JJ was born and has lived at until recently.

The lioness (actually a lion by hey). Tradition has it that one gotta kiss her butt to return to Girona, and so we did

St.Mary's Cathedral. Pity it is not allowed to take pics of the interior of it because it is really impressive, being the cathedral with the biggest gothic vault of Europe.

City walls. They have been adapted so it can be walked all along them and enjoy great views of the city.

There is this one shop in the old part with really curious stuff. Rat liquor.

Arab Baths. There wasn't much left of the inside so I'll just post the nice dome.

We managed to visit the city before lunch (late lunch but hey). Then we went to JJ's parents' house to gather some things, we also had time to go shopping to a town half way between Girona and the place where JJ actually lives and we even made it to the coast to check out a couple of places. Once back at her place, we baked some brownies. They were yummy indeed!
