Star Wars: Empire at War

I have been playing SW:EaW lately, and I have been wondering if anyone has wondered what was up with the lack of continuity? If you go by the timeline from the movies then you would realize that the Death Star was already under construction when the game starts. Since the game is supposed to take place after the end of Episode 3 there should be about a 25% complete Death Star somewhere in that game. Also why they didn't include the Venator Star Destroyer since they were in service when the end of Ep.3 came about. It was a Venator that you saw the Emperor and Vader on at the end of the movie, as well as the fleet that Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker were in command of at the start of the movie. I am also wondering how the Rebels got the control of so many planets in the start of the game? The rebellion got their start as a group of senators with numbers no bigger than 6 or 7. Most of planets represented had little to no military to speak of, and, one of those gets blown away in Ep.4.(Alderran)

Yeah, I know that the makers of the game wanted to make the game more balanced. But how about a little truth to the matter or something a little more based on fact. It really breaks down something like this. One one side, you have the Rebellion with a few systems and fewer resources to fight thier battle in the start, but that improves as they go along. Then, on the other side, you have the Empire. They have the rest of the systems, a massive army and navy left over from the Clone Wars, and almost unlimited resources to develop and add to their arsenal of manpower, weapons and ships. Not to mention the simple fact that alot of planets were already occupied by Imperial garrisons from the Clone Wars. The Seperatists who where aligned with Darth Sidious were probably sympathetic to the Empire anyway, eventhough, the Seperatist leaders had been killed by Darth Anakin in Ep.3.

Anyway, enough about that. All I would like to see is someone do a mod that has more of a basis in accuracy according to the where the Prequel Triliogy left us, and where the Trilogy picks up from. There is approximately 18 to 20 years of gap in timeline that needs to be filled in. And this game would be the perfect place to do it.

There are several mods out that I have absolutely loved though. Some have issues with some of them too.....

The SSD Improved and Balanced Mod has one issue that I have found and it has to do with the number of engines. There are engines at the back of the ship along the centerline at the back of the ship. Other than that, its a GREAT MOD! I also like the fact that the Venator-class Star Destroyer was added to this as well.
The issue I have with the Venator is, how did the rebels get ahold of them if they were still in service with the Empire? If the game picks up with the events immeadiatly following Ep3, then thats almost an impossibilty, and, with the construction of the Deathstar where it supposedly was in the game, then it would almost have to. So the "Rebel Venators" should be out of the question.

The thing I would like to see is a mod that fixes the following oversights and makes the game more in line with what we know from the timeline that the movies give us.

1. Make the Venator and Imperial Exclusive.
2. Give the Empire almost unlimited Max Production capability of all units
3. Fix the engine placement of the SSD
4. Limit the Rebel Holdings to what they have in the end of Ep.3
5. Make the systems that had Garrison forces from the Clone Wars, Empire held worlds with more than adequate defenses.

That is all that really needs to happen to make it alot more in line with the events that unfolded with the movies and alot of the printed materials that have been done since then. Also, Please do not use anything found in the pen and paper RPG's. Siince the makers of the game have taken way too many "creative liberties" with stories and characters and equipment for that matter. Alot of what I have listed is based of the "Essential Guide" series of books, as well as common sense. If that isn't enough for everyone, then my suggestion is that you go and do the research yourselves.
