I think the classic controller is great for Breath of Fire 2, an old SNES RPG. The L and R buttons on my game cube controller didn't do anything, but with the classic controller I can reorder my party on the world map. It wasn't too fun having to go into the menu to do that every time.

I stayed at Level 8, but I moved up to above average, or something on my eye.

You really should play Wind Waker, since PH is a direct sequel to WW.

You don't have to run. You just need to spend some time level up your guys before you face the rat. Most Final Fantasy games need you to do this to some extent, and FF3 is no exception. Just spend some time early in the dungeon fighting, and then go back to the town and stay at the inn to recover your spells. As you characters job levels increase, they will be able to cast more spells, and you won't have to run away from battles.

Also, the little chick looking things are called Moogles.

Yes, and I once had a roommate who hooked up a 13" TV with an NES in the bathroom and beat Super Mario Bros. while dropping a duece.
