"why are so many of you going for the low tech Nvidia that cant do HDR with AA enabled. after all if you are to use a top graphics card, why do it with something that cant deliver the best image quality... its simply strange to me" - Knut-am - Because your ATi is full of Bugs and some of us are not satisfied with its driver updates... - ATi doesnt have UDI.. -G80 will feature HDR + AA - Play a game and see "NVidia, the way its meant to be played" gives us a psychological effect that the game is definitely compatible with Nvidia..
Quote :"My reasons being that if you give it a few months the prices will drop alot" Yep thats true, but i think it applies to all video cards in teh market, since the pace in which they update and change their technology is pretty fast. I mean, if i spend around 650$ for a gx2, might as well wait for a month and get the newer G80 for roughly the same price. The pricedrop for computer parts is inevitable, and we need to learn to live with that. And if i get the new G80 card, at LEAST its dx10 ready, wether or not dx10 will be a success or not. So il guess il wait for g80 then, and for those people whose planning to get high end cards now, might as well wait too.
Hmmm... From the GAMESPOT article "Ten things to know before buying a video card", number 5 really hits me. -5. It's (almost) always a good time to buy- "The WORST-CASE scenario is buying a high-end card right before Nvidia or ATI release a new line of GPUs" 7950GX2 is high end, and G80s are commin out this november!
I think ill just wait for the first wave of g80 cards in november than buy a GX2 right now. Right here GX2 cards sell for around 650$, w/c they said will also be the price of the new 8800gtx, or perhaps like 50$ higher. And based on those statistics (the announced g80 stats) they seem to be better than current GX2. I don't really mind the DX10 features for now nor the upgrade-to-vista next year, im just looking for performance gains, and G80 seems to be better than GX2 in terms of looking at its stats. Im still gonna use winXP till i see if its good to upgrade the OS late next year. Anyway i still wont buy those g80 cards untill i see good performance reviews and good benchmark results. I think all i need is a lil sacrifice lol.
Well according to this website http://dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=4442 these g80 cards are commin out this november. The wait is killin me, im still running on an AGP fx5700 256 card and i can't play the latest good games like oblivion, prey and fear. Do you guys think its good to get the new wave top of the line products when it comes out (since G80 is the first dx10 card to launch)? I mean, i cant wait 4 or more months for their g80 products to go mainstream. Or should i just go with a Gx2, w/c doesnt support some new DX10 features.
