If Sony can charge $399 for a PS3 with BR and 40gig. MS needs to lower it's prices. Isn't Sony losing money on PS3? MS has way more money than Sony. I have 360 w/HD-DVD add on. I paid 399 for 360 and 199 for HD. I think Sony is offering a better value.

Why won't MS just lowere it's prices to a point Sony can't go, and finish this thing off? MS has the money to do this. Sony could then concetrate on making more BR players.

Sales are everything. If something doesn't sell, it won't be on the market. If it sells poorly, it will be cut back and downgraded. All companies are in business to make money. If a console doesn't sell well, it won't getas much support as a console that sells well. I don't know why people keep saying that sales don't matter.

Yes, because it was suppose to kill Nintendo. It was suppose to force Nintendo to go 3rd party. Nintendo has only gotten stronger.

What was the need to place BRD in PS3?I don't understand when games became second to watching movies on a gaming machine. It was a huge gamble. Theyknew it would drive the price way up. Why take that chance? No gaming maching costing 600 dollars willbe dominant in todays world. It just won't happen. Icould have made money advising them againsst that.

Price, price, price. This was discussed well before PS3 was released. People thought Sony would sell because it was Sony. Salesare very important, because they determine how much support a system will get. I can' t believe that people thought a $600 system would outsell a $250 system.

They just sent me a replacement. It took about 11 days to get back, so I was happy. It is a different unit. It has a diffierent serial# and manufacture date is 8/15/07.Is the problem fixed now? Should I worry about having the same problem with this unit? If this one breaks, I will raise a lot ofhell with MS. I gave them a chance to correct the problem, but if they don't care and are still sending out defective units, then they don't deserve to be in the console business.
