Since I have this blog, I think I'll start posting every now and then. Enjoy.
I've played tons of games, from the NES to the PS3. One thing that always makes the game better is a great OST.
I decided to post a few that stick out to me in no order of what I like more or less. I'm posting the game, a few of my thoughts about it, and one song from the game. You can find more on the net.
1. Kingdom Hearts (II)
It's the game that Disney and SquareEnix worked together to make, so of course it was going to have some good music.
2. Revenge of the Shinobi
Genesis game. I played III way more, but I like this OST more.
Long Distance. Honorable mention: Shinobi III: Izayoi
3. Street Fighter EX3
It was that game series Capcom teamed with Akira to make. It was fun, even though it had faults.
Jazzy NYC '99 (Alex/Ken Stage) Honarable mention: Strange Sunset (Guile theme
4. Sonic & Knuckles
An awesome game with playable Sonic and Knuckles, not to mention the cartridge port to plug-and-play previous Sonic games with Knuckles. You can also plug other games and get different emerald stages.
5. Tekken (2)
I've played the Tekken games since 2, though I really got into them at 3. This was the fighting game series I played the most when the after the MK games started getting bad.
Emotionless Passion (Kazuya stage). Honorable mentions: Tekken 3 King stage (console version) TK3 Law stage
6. Megaman X4
My favorite of the X series. X is a good character and fully powered is one of the most powerful beings around, but Zero is a force to be reckoned with in his own right. You can play the whole game as either one.
MMX4 Boss: Colonel and General
7. Final Fantasy VII
This was the first rpg I ever really played. It's music was one of its high points.
Fighting. Honorable mention: The Dark Messenger (Trance Kuja theme)
8. Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner
Best mech game I've ever played. In a way, I'm glad that the sequel isn't out yet, if it's ever coming. Sometimes, it's better not to rush things.
9. Grandia II
It music was almost as good as the battle system. I'm not sure which is better.
10. Xmen vs Street Fighter
Xmen vs SF was something else. It was a bit of a let down to learn the console version had a limited tag mode, but it was alright.
Cyclops stage. Honorable mention: Marvel vs SF Cyclops
So, that's ten songs I liked and a few extras I thought were worth mentioning.
