I would definitely recommend the Mass Effect series (especially number 2) as mentioned by @xanatos357, but also to throw a screwball in there I'd highly recommend Portal 2 (PC & Last Gen).

I'm surprised that The Last of Us wasn't mentioned either. It's last gen but also has a current gen remaster. It got rated very highly.

I personally feel that New Vegas just lacked the atmosphere of the first game.
Sure it brought in iron sights and better questing mechanics, but I feel that Fallout 3 had a better atmosphere.
Tranquility lane was awesome, the landscape was more interesting, and the main quest in general was a bit more interesting in my opinion.
I'm aware that Bethesda did change up the feel a lot from the original games, but just looking at the F3 and NV - I feel that Fallout 3 captured the heart of the two, while NV was a refinement but not quite as unique.

Here's to Fallout 4 (hopefully) being the best of both worlds!

So I'm having an internal debate at the moment - what platform to buy Fallout 4 on.

Some background:
PC has a GTX970 - will likely run Fallout 4 on max/close-to-max settings. No problem there.
I also have a PS4.

My reason for not just choosing PC is this: I want to know if the feel of a controller will be better than using a keyboard for this game. I played Fallout 3 and NV on Xbox360 and it felt fine (but I didn't/don't know any better). I've played Skyrim on the PC and it felt fine also (except stupid left alt as the run key) however they are slightly different types of action, and with Fallout 4 having much better gun-play this time around, I want to know if just playing with the keyboard will feel a bit harsh and plain. (I always feel like FPS's feel better on controller. Bad Company 2 on console felt better than BF4 on PC for some reason)

In essence, from those who have played Fallout 3/NV/Skyrim on PC/Console - will I be just as happy with Fallout 4 (seeing as its similar to Fallout 3/NV) on PC as I was with Skyrim? Or is there a decent difference in feel on PC between the two franchises?

P.S. I'm working on getting a wired Xbox360 controller for the PC but for now assume that's not an option.
P.P.S. Any idea if Fallout 4 for PC would run at all on a GTX860M? (Laptop GPU)
