it seems like the issue is becoming more widespread, so I really wanted to know what everyone thought on the process of this patch and how long it would take.

It's all good, it's just at this point most of us with the issue really have been through every plan there is up til' now and for some like me, their not working at all and it get's very frustrating to see people with the same fixes that do nothing, because we've already seen it before a number of times by now.
$100 million spent creating this game with a thousand developers and they didn't realize this would come up??? I thought they tested things like this for weeks and weeks???feryl06
I was thinking the same thing, I don't understand, I could take freezing and unfreezing to play from where you were, but to not be able to play it at all for those out there like me, is on some true garbage, especially for those who already payed and exchanged with no resolution to their problem what so ever. That much money on something like this? All I got to say, is good for u, for those people not having issues, your really lucky. I'm hoping with this full new week comin' they will have plenty of time do some real work.
Guys, I have tested this numerous times, for single player only...From cold boot, sign out of online and launch game..always works...again the system must be powered on from a cold start, not reset...If you end your game you have to power off your system and then back on, sign out online and enjoy single player only.....i know this is a pain in the ***, but until Rockstar steps up to the plate, we have an option to play the game offline.....message74
Just because it worked for you doesn't mean that it would work for anyone else, I've done everything and I can't even play single player mode at all, so there's alot of people who have done everything and are simply upset, like me, because we can't play it at all without it freezing up no matter what you turn off, how you reset it, turn it on or off, it's the same issue everytime around with me.
Turning off this and that, doesn't work for me at least and I know there's others as well. I keep seeing, "just turn off the internet, disconnect the cables, disable the information bar", I've done all of that!!! It's not working plain and simple and this is why everyone like me, is looking for a patch, there's nothing to get us by temporarily in the game itself until you we get a patch. So I'm just waitin' for somebody or something to say that there's an update. For some, just disabling the information bar has worked, but like I said those same things they've done, I've tried and it's not working and trust me, I went through this sh*t like I'm studying to get a degree through this, and nothing works. I'm leaving it to the professor, I just hope that they address it a real patch and not some other stupid step plan.
I have been through the forums since before this game even released, through the issue, up til' now and I just got my copy today and over 10 times I have restarted the system, I haven't even gotten a real chance to play it because if freezes every time. I haven't even gotten in an hour. I deleted the intial install and installed again, still doesn't solve the problem and have yet to see any real resolution, I've also done the formatting, not only quick, but have done a full format. This is some real BS, can't wait to see if there's any resolution, soon I mean, being that I can't even play the damn game until something happens.
First is was the icons with me on a previous update, I thought I was seriously buggin' then, but then came another firmware update. Solved the issue with my icons and now I read this thread and find that there's other consumers that are having the same issue that I'm having now, which is, my ps3 is now not reading my discs, I've had to restart it over and over again at first, just to see if it would pick the disc up and it would a few times, but really got frustrating after awhile and then called sony regarding my issue. Of course I got it when it first came out, so they told me something about my warranty being over with. So they wanted me to send it in, if, after restoring the settings back to default failed in solving the problem, and when I did it for the first time, it picked up the disc, but only after restarting of course which is really no different then what I was doing before, because the restoring did not work. Now it's not reading my discs at all, nor is it reading my memory stick, so I really wanna believe it's a software issue, I'm not going to pay them $150.00 to send me another one, when the one I got should be working just fine, but the ethics of sony's work seems to have lacked quality service, and now people's is sending their console's back or at least a decent number. So I really don't think it's anything particular with the games, but the software itself. So I've just been waiting for another update to see if it would solve the issue with the system not reading discs, and mem. sticks. It's the best I can do right now, other then let sony dick me for $150, because they don't wanna admit that their not up off their asses, their passing some of us that have this issue through a cow **** processing factory of their issues, let's hope it's a good day outside on the other end, rather then continous rainy pissed off days of **** Holla
Well I just got done with the Iowa Hawkeyes on college hoops 2K8, I went back to my main interface to try and sign on again and this time it worked with no problem, so whomever considered it was just "system down" was right, good lookin' on the people's, I don't play any of my games on the internet, so I knew it wouldn't be because of a complaint or anything like that. I'm comfortable enough wit' the computer. Too many crazy people, fake people, all kinds on the internet. Having that BS out of my life, being that I've been through it with the PS2 Network adapter with madden was murdering my ability to control my anger, until I realized the bs wasn't worth it one bit, so since then I haven't played online, I may try once in awhile if I'm madd bored, but other then that I'm cool, just my life with my view on it, not spittin' expertise here, just being real.
