mine was a combination of sim city 2000, the original transport tycoon, and Cyberia 2. They were on a 486 (upgraded to a cd drive and 50MHZ). I got endless mileage out of simcity 2000, I hope they bring back lama domes and archologies in the next sim city.

for me I'd have to say its a toss betweenSim City 2000 or the original tycoongame, transport typcoon :) you can't go wrong with either of them, years of fun out of both.

the more modern game I'dsay would haveto be crysis (I know its not out yet but it should be on everyones list, I'm making the vista/ dx10jump for that game alone).

for me its got to be Universal Combat (from the battlecrusier 3000AD series) crappy graphics, horrible interface, tutorial hahaha that would ruin the suprizes hidden in the game now wouldn't it, ie: how does this work?.

I could go on but you get the general idea.

Not having played this game, and not having windows vista either, but the nerve of microsoft trying wring more money out of people by making it vista only, only then to slap with dx9 quality what the hell was that?

Greed pure and simple, now while we're still down for the count they think will people after shelling out for vista and the dx10 graphics card upgrade will be willing to pay for privelage of going online with what is a game that was out on the xbox in fall 2004... Come on lol, I could go play fear multiplayer for free and keep my upgrade money for a game and company that treats us like adults (crysis) plus the graphics on that from all evidence will be well worth the upgrade.

Not having played the game but when comparing it to all the other great new fps titles coming out this year i give halo 2 for the pc 2 TUMBS DOWN AND A FART *FAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTT*

I upgraded last year to a radeon x1600 (the cheapest card I could fine with shader model 3 support) to play splinter cell double agent.  As my luck would also have it just before I take my PC to the shop my harddrive decided to commit suicide and I had to get a new one (which was painful).

Anyways as for the future I'm holding out for crysis before I make the vista jump and with any luck the dx10 cards should have come down in price by then a bit.

btw for vista should i upgrade my ram from 2gb to 3gb?  because i hear vista is really wasteful with system resources.

I've got one that blows all the games mentioned so far out of the water by a long shot, the PC horrible not even half baked version of Star Trek Legacy, which is a damn shame b/c theres no reason for any star trek game not to be absolutely amazing, I mean look at brigde commander in terms of gameplay, it was great, not anything like this horrible 360 port.

GRAW on the PC i mean the squad mates would walk right into a hail of enemy bullets almost every mission.  As if that wasn't bad enough there were also problems with getting the mouse properly over the target it would always be a bit to the right or left.

And just to rub salt and all of the above once I actually got a shot off it tended to fly off at what looked like a 45 degree angle and not related at all to where i was pointing my gun.

Oh well we can only hope for a better take on the PC version of GRAW 2 but with the same people GRIN still in the drivers seat and ubisoft not really giving a rats ass about PC market anymore I'm not too hopeful.
