Well, it looks like I should stick with XP for now... but I'm sure the story will change pretty soon, once things get better optimized for Vista. And I agree with jazilla... it's always a good idea to wait a while before you buy a new console or OS, that way a lot of the bugs can get worked out before you get yours...
It would've been fun to go one day... but I'm currently not even close to the gaming industry beyond playing games and reading gamespot. Hopefully, it can still be sweet and garner a lot of excitement in the industry like it used to...
1. Halo - Never had an Xbox, and was even against it for awhile because I felt like a console couldn't play an FPS quite like the PC (I was way into UT2003, 2004, etc.). I'm finally playing the first one now on the PC... and of course, Halo 2 comes with this, but it's not out yet for PC. :( 2. Resident Evil 4 (or any of the RE games for that matter). 3. Diablo - LIke Brad Shoemaker, I had buddies way into this in h.s., but never played it myself... 4. Final Fantasy - any of them... I could've gotten in at ground level, but my first experience was playing a Gameboy original that my older brother borrowed from a friend. We didn't have an instruction manual and it was my first exposure to an RPG ever (literally), so I was quickly turned off to that genre... maybe I should try again. 5. The Legend of Zelda - I now own the original gold cartridge original for NES, but have never played it (I acquired it about 5 yrs ago). Like I mentioned above, I had been turned off from the RPG genre at an early age...
This is great because it would give me the time to beat some games I never entirely finished... or wasn't able to finish (Double Dragon, here I come!) 1. Call of Duty 2 (PC) - great single player campaign and multiplayer is fun too. 2. Battlefield 2 (PC) (maybe bf2142 instead, if it's out by then...) - great multiplayer, what more can I say? I still have a lot of level-ups I need to get - new weapons await me. 3. Tetris (NES for color, but GameBoy's cool too) - always fun to beat your own best score and get a bigger rocket... or cause the Russian Orthodox Church to shoot off (I just learned that's St. Basil's Cathedral). :) 4. Unreal Tournament 2004 (PC) - great replay value; still fun for me (I never actually beat the end dude playing on one level harder than Normal) 5. Double Dragon (NES or GameBoy) - I always got stuck on the 3rd level (I think), those freakin' two Abobos messed me up!!! I either couldn't beat them, or they hurt me so bad when I did, that I quickly died afterward... Hence my picture... they caused a lot of frustration for me as a kid... [I loved watching Button Mashing as they fought it out in DD B mode! Ha ha ha! That was great!]
I would've put Double Dragon on there! But I didn't own an original NES, so I had to play at friends' houses... thus, some of the games listed I never really got into, or never played. :(
I'm adding my coworker's list to this "discussion." :) 1. Flight Simulator 4.0 - he's the only person I know that looks forward to these "simulators" coming out. 2. Alone in the Dark - freaked him out. 3. X-Wing 4. Zack McCrack and the Alien Mind-Benders 5. Hugo's House of Horrors
1. Super Mario Land (Gameboy) - countless hours spent on this... 2. Warcraft II (PC) - "No! I don't want to!" 3. X-Wing (PC) - old school flying in space - I used a mouse and keyboard because I didn't own a joystick for my PC. 4. Descent (PC) - Fluid and beautiful. It was awesome. 5. UT2003 (PC) - one of the coolest FPS games to come out... of course, this is after playing Wolfenstein, Dooms 1&2, and Duke Nukem 3D, which were awesome for their times... Some of these are games that got me back into gaming and into playing what I play today...
