Just a quick update on what I've been doing this week, some of the highlights and my initial impressions of the Blur beta.
Firstly FFXIII I already posted my initial impressions of this wonderful game yesterday, pretty much everything about the game has been quite positive so far, the areas are linear but at least that keeps the story flowing nicely.
I've just gone through quite a lull in the story, for about 2 hours nothing really happened but it started to pick back up again with an awesome boss battle kicking things off followed by a cut scene which turned the story on it head and really caught my attention.
Does anyone know how long this game roughly takes?
The blur beta next, initial impressions haven't been great, the demo gives you a few tracks and a bunch of different cars to play about with and the game is pretty and works well.
The biggest problem I have had so far is that it all feels like a poor clone of the Wipeout series with a similar bunch of power ups which you can use throughout the races, the main problem is that the tracks don't seem that interesting and the controls are kind of sloppy feeling at times like the cars are on ice and that the barricades at the side of the road are only there for steering purposes.
Only time will tell on this one and I plan to spend a bit more time on it before I make my final call.
Highlight of the day
This week while playing Battlefield bad company I managed to level up a few times in the space of 2 matches thanks to me being awarded several badges over the course of the matches for resupplies, squad assists and squad spawns. I unlocked my Thompson M1A1 which is a fun gun to use.
My highlight though is getting a bad squad in one defence rush game and because I was playing as a medic I managed to get over 5000 points just on combat score and an additional 4000 in awards .
