Is ur ps3 set on 1080p when using ur component cables, because with my 360 when i put it on 1080p it does that. Something to do with older 1080p tvs can only recieve 1080p through hdmi.
you cant really notice a difference, but for games 1080i is better. 720p has 60 frames per second, where as 1080i is intelaced so the 60 frames per second are halfed to make 30 fields per second. Its not quite as smooth. For films, 720p is better. Try playing a football game in 1080i then in 720p and u will notice the difference.
Yeh this is true, the only way the 360 can transmit a secure signal is through vga. But im gona stick with the component just now. The only thing is, on the back of the vga box, it says it can transmit up to 720p, unless this is just a uk thing, which i doubt, all these guys with vga cables are seeing 720p, all be it quite hard to notice.
I recently got a new hdtv. I firstly had my 360 hooked up with the vga lead. Now I have it through the component. With the component i get 1080i, but not 1080p, because the component cable cannot transmit 1080p. I hear people saying "oh my vga cable can do 1080p", is this true? From what i have heard a vga cable can only support up to 720p.
The component cable will soon not be able to transmit hddvds either, because of security, so i think im stuck.....
