@crunchb3rry: you sure did friend, he was also the president in the GI Joe movies and the governor in Pirates of the Caribbean. Among many other roles.
@itchyflop: While AMD does have some good cards, just ignore what justin12421 says. he has posted the same speech in this comments section at least a dozen times in a few pages.
since you have disposable income, grab a 980ti now and wait for a few new iterations on the 1xxx series nvidia gpus. maybe AMD will put out a comparable card, maybe they wont.
as for the rest of your build. go for an i7 built around a ddr4 ram motherboard, with 16 gbs of ram. overclocking ability optional. get a 1440p 144hz display. if you want 4k go for a large display, greater than 32 inches and 2 980ti gpus. use an ssd + hdd combo for storage and a PSU greater than 750 watts.
most important of all...get a case that you can put some sweet sweet stickers on. /s
nah but for reals, get a case with good airflow and an aftermarket cpu cooler or water cooling.
and have fun doing it. tons of options out there but build what you want to build.
@louixiii: It is inaccurate to say its been out for 3 years. But it did come out in November 2013. So technically it is in its third year. So he is right in a sense. But not here to argue semantics. He is a bit young (24 i believe). A few more years under his belt and I will feel more inclined to follow his recommendations.
