We're at work discussing classic coin op games during a recent lunch break and the 4 of us are totally stumped by this game - if we knew the name we'd try and find a emulator for it. It was before golden axe, had better graphics than Rastan probably mid 80's.
It was a side scrolling sword fighting combat game.
If was based in a castle and your character was decked out in blue armor almost trojan/gladiator type. As you scrolled along you would use your shield and sword to deflect bats amongst other things that would come your way. If you moved your shield quickly enough (up & down) it would create a type of field for a short time that let nothing through. If you were hit by an object that piece of armor was removed leaving flesh exposed. Another hit to that spot meant instant death.
Once you'd reached the end of the room you would fight a end boss (of course) who was armed with a sword and shield also. You had to penetrate the defence remove the armor and hit exposed spot. I always remember the first boss being easy, but the next was a women in pinkish red armor and they got a lot tougher after her, i think the third had a ball and chain or mace. If your shield took too many hits it would also slowly deteriorate.
If any one can help us name this game we would be incredibly stoked. It was a flat top sit down game as well like the original space invaders.

Benno
