login to what from EA exactly? (website? game? account manager?)
EA's website (forums) are so always screwed up-not performing without a glitch, and the games.... I have one game from EA Link (BF2142) which has been rendered useless for reasons unkown. I formatted my HD twice (after many uninstalls of Link+game) in order to get the game to work again. (I always have my drivers up to date & defrag, error check, scan for evil, etc)
I hate cookies, but for a login from public, it is necessary (it seems).
If you are loging in to EA forum, try deleting your browser cache, cookies, and Temp folder contents. THen try login again. If it is a game, well, what version (EA Link or disk)? !!you must really provide enough information for reasonable help!!! (duh)For minor troublshooting a EA Link game, Try deleting the game's cache folder (server logos and stuff), it may help to create a new environment where your PC can operate as expected.
TRY "ea/support" (doh!)

eiterh version of game, retail disk or VALVE requires online activation/registration to use.
You may be able to download the game onto the PC with VALVE on it already, and then move it to a different PC... where you'd have to get online with the 2nd PC to activate the copy. Soooo, put VAlve onto the 2nd PC already.
PreLoad of VALVE version takes a LONG WHILE. (cable 10MB Dn/1MB up plan=all night to download; busy servers; bottlenecked data exiting to customersssssss)
