Futurama Movie Idea
by butchazoid on Comments
Hey guys! I posted this on a Futurama forum not too long ago, but seeing that hardly anybody posting any movie ideas, I'm afraid this topic won't make it. So I thought I'd save my movie idea and post it on my blog entry...and maybe I'll post a few more ideas later on. Here it is: Fry, Leela (still just friends), and Bender were delivering an unknown piece of a destructive mechanism to a huge mothership led by a very rare space species. Upon their arrival, they bring the delivery up to the head of the group and were taken hostage, and their PE Ship was blown to smithereens. Finding a way out of their prison cell, they find blueprints and an old alien journal. Bender, who just had himself upgraded to translate over 20 alien languages, was able to translate the report, stating that the species was constructing a huge laser device, driven to destroy every living human on the Planet Earth, leaving nothing but the Earth's crust (a la Independence Day) so they can take it for themselves, let their species grow into huge numbers and therefore repeat the process to every planet in the universe. As the trio enter the control room of the laser device, Fry accidentally trips and knocks a lever, overloading the device and pointing the gun over the mothership itself! Quickly, the trio make their way towards the escape pod room. Leela and Bender make it out of the mothership alive, but as Fry was able to enter his escape pod, the aliens have him surrounded and grab him by the jacket. Fry escapes their grasp leaving his jacket and enters another room with another unknown mechanism, consisting of a conventional oven, plutonium set to give off an explosion and a chicken pot pie covered in metal. (We've seen how Fry activated the microwave and a pot of popcorn...) As the laser device fires the mothership, Fry activates it, leaving an unknown red wave as it connects with the explosion itself, causing Fry to teleport foward in time--To the 40th Century! Now Fry becomes drawn toward not only the fact that Earth and Alien citizens are praising him for his stupid act saved the future, but also the realization that Fry's long-lost mother, who standed accused of murdering her husband back at the 20th century and went into a cryogenic freezer to start a new life 2000 years later, is still around and coaching a universal football team. Meanwhile, back at the 30th century, everybody else at the Planet Express believed that Fry died in the explosion. Leela, who was grieving for her friend's death (since we've seen how she felt for him when he died in The Sting), hires Zoidberg as a new crewmember as the crew in new PE ship continue making deliveries for over a week until Farnsworth sends the crew on a metal-recycling mission at the damaged mothership drifting into space. At their arrival, Leela uses her wristband's blue-ray device, revealing Fry's footprints that lead toward a damaged time-portal device with an overcooked pot pie. Leela, now wearing Fry's lost-and-found, burnt-up jacket orders the crew to help bring it back to Farnsworth for repairs, in hopes that she'd activate the device herself and find Fry in that time period. After reuniting with his mother, Fry was able to get a job as, of course, a delivery boy, at Panucci's head's pizza parlor, Blu-Ray Player repair, and engine center. He was "getting the hang" of the 40th century, which has far more advanced technology than the 30th, and while making a delivery on a hoverbike, stumbles into a secret base with the remaining group of the same alien species who tried to destroy the 30th century. When the species spotted him, Fry makes a break for it as he grabs his mother and together ride the hoverbike towards freedom... well, at least until they found the time portal activated by the now-fixed device from Farnsworth, as Leela, Bender, and Amy walk through with ammunition, in case if Fry was in trouble. Leela feels overjoyed that Fry is still alive, as do Bender and Amy. Unfortunately, the time portal closed back up as they walked through, and now they can't go back, and what's worse is that the species, in an ammunition hovercraft, caught up with Fry and together, the entire crew hopped on the hoverbike barely escaping the enemy's grasp. The question is: Will they be safe, or worse, will the entire universe be safe with the species still alive? This is just an idea, of course, not the official thing; It may have its flaws to some readers' point of view, but still, this is just for fun.
