Your xbox sounds like it's dying. Unless the disc is heavily scratched, 'disc read errors' will always mean hardware failure.

Depends on what the description is. I got mine off Amazon.com and it's great. Most are black ones off of Elites so if there is a generic picture, it's probably gonna be that and not a grey one. You aren't gonna get a modded one - most are hard drives from RROD'd consoles.

Bethesda has been really good with DLC for Oblivion and Fallout 3. But yeah Halo 3 too.

Modern Warfare 2, no question.

Gears multiplayer isn't great [buggy, laggy, and lots of people glitching]. Halo's is really fun but you should get ODST for the extra maps.
