No reason to waste money if you already have a large backup drive and lots of unused space on it :P

You can partition your portable drive with another partition of fat32 on windows vista. Go to start, control panel, then scroll to the bottom and under administrative tools select create and format hard disk partitions. then when you enter the disk management screen find your portable drive under the drive listings. right click the drive, the select shrink partition, then you'll be prompted to select how much you want to shrink the parition. Shrink it to whatever you want, 30000 would be 30 GB ect. Once you do that click shrink. Than you will see another partition pop up of unallocated space. Then right click that space, and select new simple volume. Follow the screens until you see format partion, and it will give you the option to select what file system you want, there is FAT32 and ntfs. so pick fat 32 and quick format. thats it you should be ready to go
