A friend of mine is a big animal rights activist and I support that. We recently had dinner and she explained this particular issue to me. So the Japanese govt is all for killing dolphins and whales, and selling dolphin meat, which is extremely high in mercury, to their citizens. Mercury is of course terrible for the human diet. And whales and to a lesser extant dolphins are protected by many countries because of dwindling numbers. They claim tradition as for these being in their diet. Well it was a tradition for wealthy land owners to have slaves at one time also. Time to get with the times, Japan. Joining this is tough for me because so many great gaming series and products come from japan. I said I will do my best to her, and would post a blog about it. It is sad that not only are they killing these mammals or selling the rare ones like two albino dolphins to sea world, but they are selling the unhealthy product to their own population. Besides mercury, there is still quite a bit of radiation in this bay, but that's cool to sell to your population I guess.
