i do presume that people like the author of this topic occasionaly read the developers comments on the game on Gamespot??

The actual developer himself went into the whole "Planes" saga about a week ago and i am sure someone could dig up a link if they wanted.

He never mentioned 9/11 or technical issues, merely that there was no call for planes to fly from one side of a city to the other. It was trying to put a feature in that didnt make sense to the gameplay. Helicopters will still play a part as they are considered city travel but planes are not, as these are used to get from one city to another of which San Andreas had 3 of these cities (so made sense to use planes to travel between them) whereas GTA4 has just the one huge one (and therefore in the grand scheme of things people do not get in a plane on one side of New York City, to travel to the other side of New York City!)

Someone please dig up the link from the Gamespot archive to end this speculation

as a standalone online 360 game its good but the crossover between pc and 360 is still buggy and has issues.

The 360 is far more polished in terms of it being finished and ready.

A demo for it is coming soon on XBL

Insiders say an announcement is coming very soon where they will announce that a 360 version identical but with different options to the PS3 is coming, similar to GTA4 where they are very similar but extra content for each console. Plus they are making a cut down version for the Wii that uses the remote technology.

You heard it here first ;)

They wont have planes because the maps are smaller single city as opposed to several cities and the creators felt that nobody in real life flies from one end of the city to another in a plane, they would use a helicopter to do that if they did, and guess what, they are including helicopters in the game!!

It is nothing to do with console capabilities and certainly not to do with 9/11 (lets not have the opportunity to fly a plane in a computerised skyscraper...... but include murder, prostitution and random violence instead)

If you want to fly a plane i suggest buying Flight Sim or something.

I agree, I bought one, didnt play hardly any PS3 games as they are nearly all crap, spent most of my time playing PS2 games.

So ended up selling it, got nearly all my money back and decided i will buy it again in a year or twos time when they are cheaper and more quality PS3 games to play.

Quoted on Digital Spy

 ht ??tp://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/a58390/metal-gear-solid-4-confirmed-for-xbox-360.html

Formely announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will now also be released on Xbox 360, with a cut-down Nintendo Wii version also a possibility, according to online reports.

The new game in the multi-million selling franchise will feature objective-based missions, while the Xbox 360 version will also include exclusive content and gameplay not offered in the PS3 edition.

Starring the infamous character Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as with other titles in the series, is being created by renowned designer Hideo Kojima.

A Konami spokesman said: "The game is set after the events of MGS2 and players will reprise the role of top secret agent Solid Snake with appearances by characters throughout the MGS series. With the addition of online capability, MGS4 is a leading product and will signal the dawn of a new gaming era for the MGS series."

The firm also added: "MGS4 brings a totally new concept and situation, resulting in the toughest Metal Gear infiltration mission ever devised."

Industry insiders claim publisher Konami is also in talks with Nintendo to bring a cut-down MGS game to the Wii.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released in 2008.

Over here in the UK we have GAME and they take old games and resell them.

It was announced last summer that 68% of GAMES profits were from re-selling pre-owned titles whereas the other 32% was from selling brand new hardware and games etc.

That goes to show you how much money a company is making from buying your old games and selling them on!

Barely weeks after launch, Sony is finding the UK population is not warming to its new console. With most of the launch stock still sitting on most stores shelves gamers are on the hunt for bargains during the Easter break, and WH Smith is hoping it will attract PS3 buyers to its stores after announcing it has cut £25 off the retail price.
The high-street giant has placed advertisements in The Sun newspaper promoting the new deal, offering the basic PlayStation 3 console pack for £399.99.
The offer is only available in larger stores and will end next Tuesday, April 10, after the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Meanwhile, online e-tailer play.com has also cut the price of the PlayStation 3 to £399.99 and is offering free delivery, a free HDMI cable and a free copy of movie 'Click' on Blu-ray disc.

Could this Easter be the start of Sony finally selling their consoles to the UK people, or is the price still far too steep an asking price for clued up british people who refuse to be taken for a ride over the two tiered pricing of the US and UK markets?

Time will tell.

While the Console manufactures are struggling to get machines into stores, provide reliability and charge far too much money for their consoles..... they are losing any real chance of "exclusivity" from third party developers that HAVE to try and turn a profit. Why limit your product to a potential 500,000 Sony customers when you could open up the multiformat selling to a potential 5,000,000 customers....... not rocket scienc to have business sense!!! Shame the likes of Sony cant see this when they make boasts about Exclusives before they can guarentee selling consoles.

ROFL, not only is he right about the cost of living difference (America = cheap workers, Europe = expensive workers) but this article also proves his point about "lazy" journalists.Jamh83
Try paying $832 dollars for the same console your paying $600 for and you can see why we think the americans are getting it CHEAP!!!
