My monitor supports DVI-D dual link, but I don't think it needs it to display optimally (DELL 2007WFP_b). Should I get a DVI-D dual link anyways, or just a single link? Since there's no price difference I figure I might as well get a dual link for if my next monitor uses it, but I'm not sure.

Advice?

FYI I'm using a macbook > miniDVI to DVI-Dadaptor > DVI-D cable > DELL 2007WFPb monitor.

A DVI-D double link most likely. Double link DVI allows for the higher resolutions such as 2560x1600, that's the resolution of the Dell monitor right?

EDIT: Oh wait, no I was thinking of the 3007WFP, the 2007WFP is 1680x1050. Again though, a dual-link should be fine.

Marfoo

LOL, looks like you edited your comment right before I was about to say "swha...?" Yeah, 1680X1050 is it. Alright, so a DVI-D Dual Link is what I need then? Thanks!

I have a 13" MacBook that I use for Industrial Design (my major). I needed a bigger monitor so I just bought a refurbished DELL 2007WFP. As you may know, in order to preserve the nice small size, the MacBook doesn't have a DVI port, but a proprietary mini DVI port. I bought a Mini DVI to DVI adaptor cable from Apple, so now all I need is to make sure I have the right kind of DVI cable (I know almost nothing about which type I need).

From the Apple forums on their official web site, it seems that a hybrid analog/digital DVI-I cable won't work. What kind of DVI cable do I need? DVI-D Single Link? DVI-D Double Link? (I'm only going to use one display at a time if that means anything)...

Also, what is the standard cord that ships with most DVI Monitors? Would I need to buy a new one (and if so, how much $) to connect my MacBook to the 2007WFP?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Even if you hate it, you can't really deem it the worst console for two reasons:

1 - The hardcore Nintendo franchise classics are still awesome.

2 - it will bring more people to hardcore gaming by introducing them to casual gaming, so you still benefit.

There are some pretty good hardcore communities on Wii, too. See MK, and Brawl...

Also, can you tell me you honestly don't want something like Motion Plus 1:1 on your Sony or MS 2nd gen HD console (which is pretty likely).

[QUOTE="SpinoRaptor"]Like Nintendo really cares about online :roll:Adonymous

Like Nintendo really cares about games anymore

I think releasing titles for all hardcore franchises in the first year and a half of the system's lifespan is pretty good, don't you? Previously they took the whole lifespan to do so, and MS and Sony still have 1st party franchises that haven't come out yet...

"it would be too expensive"

truly, thats really funny especially from Nintendo.

Did it ever occur to you they were talking from the average customer's perspective and not their own? Most people don't have that much money to waste on video games.

I have to admit that F-Zero GX has been the only game in the last decade that truly had that old-school feel of difficulty and suspense. I know lots of games are accessible but it would be nice to keep one franchise kind of old-school/hardcore-ish, for once.
