THIS IS AN URGENT APPEAL FROM
AND TECHNOCHEETAH
PLEASE READ AND SEND TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! THANK YOU!
Well, here we are, it's March 2011 and the 3DS is closer to launch than ever before. In fact, the 3DS is already launched in Japan, but when it comes out i'm not going to get it.
When I won the competition, I was hoping to not get a 3DS and get a PS3 instead as I've always wanted one and this is like, the only chance I'll ever have to get one. I'll get Amazon vouchers from 3dsforum.co.uk and get my dream console. The competition sounds like a success, I've got the 'grand prix' from it...
Or at least, I WAS going to get Amazon vouchers. Not any more. Not yet. The situation is this- 3dsforum.co.uk is not made of money. The competition rules were- 20 3DS's to 20 different people. 5 moderators, 10 people in the 'top ten people with the most posts' list and 5 people at random from the members database.
What are the chances of winning a Nintendo 3DS if only 5 people will be picked at random out of 400? Huh? It's 1 out of 80. In other words, 395 people won't win a 3ds and 5 lucky people will.
Now I have no idea why everyone has so much faith but 400 of the 3dsforum members thought they could win a Nintendo 3DS by getting picked at random and doing nothing else. They thought that just by signing up they'd log on to the website 5 months later and find a private message saying 'CONGRATULATIONS! You have been picked by random from the database and have won a 3DS!'
So no one posted. Only 10 people were actually determined to win a 3DS. I was one of them.
But now, it's just hard times, nothing else. We only have 4 core members (4 people who actually CAN be bothered to log on and post everyday) and some other people with a load of posts who are bothered to log on like once a week and post some stuff.
So we have like 10 people in total who care about the forum, and like 400+ spammers who just log on and advertise and swear and run away.
We can't take it. 3dsforum.co.uk ain't made of money. The guy who payed for the site (the domain hosting, prizes, adwords, etc) has probably payed like a thousand pounds for us and we repay him by instead of giving him a grand amount of core members like we promised him, we give him 400+ members, 10 of which are actually spending their time on the site wisely, and 390 + people who sign up and don't post and don't contribute to the forum, leaving very little chances of success.
So a while ago I came up with the idea of making a youtube channel for 3dsforum.co.uk and we called it TechnoCheetah. We will start official youtube videos making and uploading at around summer time. But still, we don't have the necessary amount of helpful members.
We promised the guy who payed for our forums that we'd give him a site with hundreds of people registered and dozens of people at one time online and like 20 posts per minute. That's what we had in mind. But thats not. The forum is very quiet, only 2 people are usually logged on together, it's rare if you find more than 3 people online at the same time now and there are no bad boys to ban from the forum. And that has put us in heavy dept. We have very little decisions.
Either our site admin pays £1000 to feed the 4 moderators (there never was a fifth one due to the competition being a failiure) with promised prizes so we keep up the mod support, but we still would need more members. Or, we 4 moderators forget our prizes so that the admin of the site saves £1000 at least. He then gives the guy back the £1000 plus the money used for domain hosting, adwords and other stuff and in the end our admin loses wallets of dosh. Then since this'll be the climax of all events, we'll have to close down as there'll be no more money for the forum.
So that is the damn situation. We 3dsforum.co.uk need help. Register, post, and invite friends to come along. You will get to speak up with TechnoCheetah's staff and tell them what stuff you'd like to see once TechnoCheetah goes into action later in the summer. Don't just register and leave- be part of the 3DS forum project and who knows, you may find yourself one day as a member of staff for TechnoCheetah or maybe you'll get a free 3DS if we have another 3DS competition! The first 3DS competition was a failiure thanks to some lazy 400 members, why should it stay like that?
So come and register for free, TechnoCheetah's official forums may close down as we have too few core members, so join up, and if you post well enough you might be entered in a prize draw or a competiton! And if enough people join, we'll save the site once and for all!
We are not joking, this is serious and we need to save 3dsforum.co.uk, we were planning to have quite a load of competitions and give out prizes and show tutorials and have polls and general discussions in a child friendly environment. But we can't have any of this without the general publics help. It's taken me hours to write up this appeal and I hope that it will at LEAST gain 50-100 new active members. Please spread this appeal round. If we get around 100+ active members, then maybe we've saved the site. But to be an active member you've got to log on regularly and at least get 50 posts a week, that'll make a great improvement.
If you need any help once registered, you can send me a private message or e-mail and I'll reply. Just look for my username, abdussamad.exe on the forum. It should be written in purple. Click on it then click 'send pm' or 'send e-mail'.
Also you can contact nick0320, dclarke742, SnowydayTheModerator and of course, the site admin, 3DS_admin1.
Please help us, we need hundreds of active members like we promised the guy who is paying for the domain hosting, adwords, prizes, and everuthing else. He spent thousands of pounds. Repay him by using the forum well and inviting others.
Remember you don't only need to talk about the 3DS in 3dsforum.co.uk, you can talk about Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 and X360 and NGC and NGP and N64 and nes and Snes and in the sofa you can talk about anything you ever wanted to talk about! There's no limits! (apart from the fact you can't talk, you type).
Thank you for taking your time if you registered and if you continuously get 50+ posts a week, WELL DONE!!! And if you didn't bother to register, well, get a life someday.
From- Muhammed Abdussamad Rashid, The leader of TechnoCheetah and a member of staff on 3dsforum.co.uk.
