There is nothing in the technical specs to support what I am writing, but logical reasoning - so hopefully you can somehow confirm in the store.

The CRT tv's that couldn't convert 720p to 1080i were pretty much only the early ones. This is definately not one of the earlier ones and contains both tuners and HDMI. Below is also a link to a guy that uses it for 720p. While he isn't happy with the overall picture (sounds like a defective unit) it confirms that 720p gets converted into 1080i. I couldn't find the full manufacturer specs so can't make any promises... Other threads stated that the picture issue this guy had was when using component and since PS3 has HDMI there should be no issue.

Don't pay more than 250-450 for this thing though

No. That looks like a 1080i only CRT, the picture will be great on Blu Ray movies, but most games will play in last gen 480p, which isn't even HD. The PS3 doesn't have full hardware scaling still, and most games have a 720p max, those games will be the ones not playing in HD. In fact, I think MGS4 is 720p only as well. Some games have 1080 resolutions, even some of them have software based scaling, (VF5) but you'll be missing out on most games.

Why won't Kojima just come out and admit that he can't compete with other developers like Epic and Naughty Dog?
