The weird thing is that I'm 95% sure that it was an honest mistake. They are just parents who thought an Arcade version was the same as a 20gb with no hard drive and also they can't sell my their old one because it's registered to Microsoft under their names. I'm getting the Jasper Arcade because I'm positive they don't know the difference. I just really want to know if there are any consequences from using a different power brick in the Arcade.
I know it was complex but I think you got it mixed up, they kept the Jasper Arcade they got from Target, the Microsoft one is what they put in the box and gave me so I have the Jasper powerbrick and the old microsoft console. So, whatever power brick they have from the old Xbox must be working with the Arcade Jasper somehow but it doesn't go the other way. I'm just wondering if, since they're pumping extra juice into that Jasper with a different power brick, if that's been hurting it at all. Ideally I want their Jasper Arcade from Target....
So, I bought an Xbox Arcade off craigslist that was "new" because this family had a broken Xbox (20gb I'm guessing), sent it in to Microsoft and I guess they got impatient and bought a new Arcade from target. Well, they got a letter saying Microsoft was sending a new one so they decided they'd sell the Arcade. Enter me. I go buy the Arcade, which they supposedly hadn't played, get back to find the power brick doesn't fit the console. After doing some research I found that my power brick belonged to a Jasper console. Now, this was an honest mistake on their part, they figured that the brand new one from microsoft would be the same as the Arcade version they got from target if they just took the hard drive out of the Microsoft one, fair logic I suppose. Now, they said they'll trade the consoles because theirs works fine with the new Xbox and old power brick, but isn't that power brick putting out different wattage? Are they damaging it by doing that? If they are I don't really want it because who knows what it did to the console or power brick, but if it's fine....well, you get it. So yea, any advice would be appreciated, this is my first post and I joined because you guys probably know best.
