Carstairs is a town in Scotland (also in Alberta, incidentally). The image comes from a BBC article about murderers being released :?.

Dark. I have a bright monitor and often browse in low light, and the bright theme can be downright garish depending on how late it is. Everything seems to come together better on dark, too.

Indeed. I have a 25/15 Internet connection (actually around 26/17), and pages take about one second to fully load. Someone with dial-up, satellite, or even a low-end fiber optic connection will have slower Internet speeds. The only thing I can think of to help would be Opera's Turbo feature, which compresses images so that pages load faster and less bandwidth is used. You could try that.

Nope. Questions on using GameSpot should be directed to the How to GameSpot board, but here's the official explanation: We apologize but we are unable to change your username. Changing a username can cause unintended problems in the system, and therefore we only change them for very specific circumstances, which include technical problems or cases where public information needs to be removed from a username. We are unable to change usernames for any other reasons. Taken from the help section at the bottom of each page.

You're a premium subscriber; you do get full 720P video. Normal users get 540P.

I can't comment on actual video quality; it's always been fine to me. 1080P would take a lot of bandwidth; I could see it as an option for Total Access, but it's very difficult to stream 1080P for many people.

We had a welcoming thread in How to GameSpot that was removed because of spam and a lack of real discussional value. A board of nothing but introductions would lend itself to spam, little discussion, and advertising. I'm opposed.
