[QUOTE="cascadingCoins"]Pilotwings - a Wii version please!!!! A new version of Parodius wouldn't go amiss either.Panzer_Zwei

I have seen the odd video of that running but it seems to have lost something along the way. It looks like Parodius but it seems to be missing something. I would have loved to have seen Treasure give it the Gradius V treatment.

SFII Turbo - obvious but a superb game. Battletoads in Battlemaniacs. Great graphics, cheesy rock music, and a really tough challenge. Great fun with 2 players - you can toggle collision detection between player 1 and 2.

The Atari 7800 was a great console in its time that was sadly held back by Tramiel - only to be released against the all conquering NES when its age was starting to show and also with an ageing lineup of arcade game remakes.

The megadrive got an absolutely splendid shooter called Sub Terrania. Its a gravity-based shmup - like Thrust or Gravitar. Great graphics and physics and variety due to its mission based play. The levels become puzzle-like quite soon. I liked Quackshot. Its a formulaic Disney platformer but looks great. There's a plunger gun that introduces some nice ideas - shooting plungers that stick to walls that you can use as platforms for example. Micro Machines Turbo Tournament is superb for multi-player. It has non-volatile memory backup for best times etc.; and the cart has 2 integrated ports for 2 extra controllers.

Sky Odyssey - nice Pilotwings style flying game. Easy to pick up and play. Gradius V - stonking update of the classic. RType Final - this and Gradius V are why I got a PS2. Metal Slug 3 - best in series, great version with exclusive bonus minigames too. Amplitude - last great rythmn game that doesn't need extra bits of plastic.
