This is unranked. 1) Guitar Hero. This is one of the only games I've noticed that has not brought a smile to every onlooker that walked by. I had people lining up to try it, and at college, even the head of one of our major school programs, a teacher, and two janitors were amazed. I even pushed the product enough to get some people to buy it. 2) Guilty Gear X2: Reload. If you, by any chance, know me at all or have read my posts, you already know how much I've praised this game. GGX2 is the quintessential weird game that makes most other games look generic by comparison. Anyone that has played this game can describe all the oddities of every character, and I did most of that in my review of the game available here. Very few games can push the boundaries of "Cool" and "Confusing" at the same time, but this game does so. 3) Shadow of the Colossus. From the casual eye of a passing onlooker, any of the boss battles and even the environments are stunning enough to draw a person closer to the game. But for those who are actually playing the game, the somber, depressing punches the game consistently throws at the player along with the minimal approach to gameplay truly shows how sensational the game can be. 4) Killer7. Remember what I said about Guilty Gear X2? Apply it here. Not to mention that Killer7 has some of the most memorable cutscenes in recent gaming memory and a plot that seems so convoluted and politically charged that to a certain niche, this game can be as cool as it is slick. 5) Psychonauts. I'd explain why, but I need to go.
