Gamespot has removed his picture and name from the Xbox Newsletter that went out 2 hours ago. He normally appears on the email headers just like the other staff members. All it has now is the Gamespot seal.

Does anyone have the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT?

how does it run?

what did you like about it?

what graphics things does it have?

can you have HDR+ AA + AF all at the same time?

Neubauer4

I have one, it does a pretty good job as far as running full settings but i'm also pushing mine out to 1680x1050. HL2: Episode One is running pretty smoothly with all settings on. I know some games can't have certain combinations like full HDR and FSAA, though that depends on the games and the optimization of the drivers. I run mine on a vista box and it works pretty well, though I get a lot of slow downs in Company of Heroes, though that may be due to drivers in regards to DX10. I won't know how crossfire works till I get the second card from gamespot.

The card is good and its more future forward so it can take advantage of some pretty neat stuff if developers opt to use it. Just note though if you're looking for UVD (Universal Video Decoding), its not on this model.

Opps, just noticed the link's content above. Yeah those are really good speakers! I got them last year after my Klipsch 5.1 blew out. Its even certified for the 360.

Unforunately you're at the mercy of your operating system too if you pass the audio from your 360 into the PC sound card. There may be a way to reduce the delay speed from inside the sound card options but another thing to note is that it doesn't always do 5.1 properly. I tried this with my PS2 and some 5.1 games using a usb external sound card that had a digital input but found that it doesn't actually do dolby decoding from any of the digital inputs on the card, it just acted as a passthrough. Creative labs use to make the DDTS-100 Digital Decoder which was designed for the very purpose you are looking at however I don't think they're easy to find anymore.
