Lots of folks know him as Colonel Potter from M*A*S*H*. I remember him from Dragnet. He was 96.

Two and a Half Men/2 Broke Girls
by cdrak0715 on Comments
I watched Two and a Half Men last night. MEH! With or without Charlie Sheen, the show should have ended a couple of seasons ago. They've become more and more dependent on bathroom humor. Walden has big genitals. Walden likes to walk around naked. Jake farts. Those are "jokes"???
2 Broke Girls wasn't any better. It got glowing reviews, but I can't figure out how. Seeing Garret Morris again was great, but there wasn't enough of him to help the show and the lines he did have were borderline.

Overall, I like the new show, but I don't really like what they've done with the Danny Williams character. IMHO, they changed the character waaay too much from the original and not in a good way. I don't watch it very often since it's on opposite one of my favorites - "Castle" - but last night "Castle" wasn't on and I wasn't about to watch another "reality" show with "stars".
A Blast from the Past

For no good reason, I did a search on the net for a childhood friend and found the right person on the first try. I'm currently debating sending an email to someone I haven't seen in about 30 years. Not sure if I should and not sure what to say.
Ugly Betty

I'm very sorry to see this series end, but they definitely went out with class. They wrapped up various story lines and left the audience with the impression that life goes on for the characters. Sadly, some shows seem to forget that the characters live in the minds of the audience.
I was surprised by the way some things worked out and the choices characters made, but that's a good thing. The ending didn't need to be predictable. It did need to be reasonable and it definitely was.
I did like the removal of "ugly" from the title at the end. Bettycame a long way since the first episode as did the rest of the characters. All in all a very good series with good writing and acting. I definitely will miss it.
You're a mean one, ABC

Last night I settled in to watch my favorite Christmas cartoon... How the Grinch Stole Christmas which was being aired by ABC before they aired Shrek the Halls. I have nothing against Shrek, but it's nothing like the pure genius of Dr. Seuss and Chuck Jones (not to mention the priceless narration/voice work of Boris Karloff). Since the Grinch is an older cartoon, it runs longer than the current 30 minute shows. ABC decided to cut parts of it in order to show all the commercials AND have it end by 8:30, so they could show the Shrek cartoon.
Bah humbug!
I'm sure lots of folks didn't even notice, but I've seen that cartoon countless times (I have it on tape as well) and I know exactly what parts were missing - parts of the Grinch's ride into Whoville and his ascent to the top of Mount Crumpit.
Bah humbug!

The return of Doggie Do-Good

After I got out of college, I worked in retail for a few years. When I was leaving my last retail job to start my first programming job, my co-workers gave me a mug with a design inspired by my dog who I talked about all the time.
For more than 20 years, I used the mug at work on a daily basis through 2 jobs and numerous office moves until Wednesday when it slipped from my hand. The handle broke and the mug cracked. Sadly, I picked up the pieces and wondered what I'd do for a replacement.
After a quick internet search for it, I discovered 2 on eBay. One is sitting on my desk at the moment. The other will arrive next week. The original will be repaired and kept for sentimental reasons.
I'm having a much better day as a result.
