i tried to erase that purple circle around the button but it just won't!!..any suggestions about what to tell my brother so he won't kill me?

hello!..well I was wondering if this has happened to you

I play every two days mario kart wii like for 2 hours. I wash my hands everytime before i start to play but yesterday i realized the the 2 button is turning purple!! i need to know if this has happened to you cause my brother will just kill me if i don't explain what happened!
