I want games not like LA Noire, but what LA Noire said it was trying to be.IAmNot_fun

I agree it could h ave been better. They didn't need to make the whole game interrogations and could have given the player more freedom and mixed things up more. But it was a good base. But like you say they still just copied stuff from other games instead of making something truly unique and new.

That said I think the gameplay is fun. It just could have been better.

Instead Team Bondi goes in the crapper. I think games have evolved to the point of just high budget throw as much at you as possible and have evolved mindlessly a certain way. People want certain things. Games hae lacked creativity and have just evolved because of people being big babies and not being able to think for themselves..

I much prefer actually playing a game vs gettign sidetracked every 2 seconds. LA Noire I thought did a really good job of giving you a lot of things to do, vs just the mindless running and gunning while also keeping it part of the story and relavant. It's far from perfect. It's first game in the series and fairly bare boned compared to red dead and gta. But I think it gives us more mature gamers something to play. I Also picked up the complete edition for $30 and there is a ton of content that wasn't in the "not complete" version.

I find just playing this game through, the game does actually change instead of what has been programmed into gamers and just trying to get every achievement and 5 stars on every case. If you just play the game it actually does give you a lot more to do then other games.

DLC, achievements. Licensing. High budgets. Meh.

[QUOTE="cf002222"] I agree it's a mess. I can't really feel too sorry for these guys though. They built their own crap and now they are just jacking up prices and killing off the industry. Common logic would tell me not to be so greedy?lundy86_4

Unfortunately, between things like licensing fees, royalty fees, manufacturing/shipping, etc, prices will increase. Even with DD only games, we're seeing publishers release at the same price (some for $60 om Steam). Between greed and an actual need to cover cossts, we get screwed.

that's what i mean though. everyone wants their two cents. Then they just jack up prices and b lame used game sales and piracy for being pretty much successful. It's a mess. And they wonder why this stuff is coming to a head. they sue everyone else out. The average consumer isn't going to buy a ton of games at that price so everyone is shut out. They basically made their own mess. Now they are trying to change the laws where people have no say in how the industry should be. I'm not advocating piracy here, but it's kind of funny.

At $15 a pop, don't expect games to have much more content that XBLA/PSN titles. Budgets on games need to be reduced, without impacting the quality of games (heavily).

Console gaming and downloadable retail games are still expensive though.

If games were like $15 dollars a pop i would spend more money buying games. I'm sure developers will love me but what do you think? I just don't buy a lot of games because they usually aren't worth $65 plus the dlc crap they are pulling now. If games were fifteen/twenty dollars i would give a lot of different companies my money. But i don't end up giving them anything. Maybe will buy a few games a year that go to just those companies. Since they are cutting our piracy and used games why not??
