2 rings just means your system is overheated and you need to let it cool down. PlasmaBeam44

Yes, it means the 360 is overheating. after it cools down the 2RROD will return. Using the vacuum solves the 2 RROD from happening again. Its been 2 days now and i have no problem, also the fans arent as noisy

FORZA 2 FTW!!! theres no sim racer like it. physics is unbeatable. The sound of your car crashing into the wall (thers nothing like it), crazy AI (if you keep crashing into opponent AI they start playing rough), driving down the long stretch at Nurburgring -- theres nothing like it. The demo doesnt do it justice. Rent the game instead

Yes. I am now a framerate whore. As long as cod-wow is using the cod 4 engine and framerate is 60 fps I will buy it

I got the the 2 RRODoom today...actually 2x.

I could unplug the 360 and turn it back on again. but after a few minutes the 2 RROD would return. xbox.com says it means the 360 is overheating due to decrease ventilation.

Solution: This worked for my laptop so I thought I'd give it a try on the 360. Using a vacuum, I placed the hose on the vented areas of the 360 (top, bottom, sides, back and front, in all the holes and connectors) for 20 seconds. I worked the vacuum around those areas little by little. then I slided the hose on the areas again 10 times on all vented areas. After I was done I plugged the 360s power, video and ethernet cable, turned on the 360 and problem solved...2 RROD gone.

I place a cover on the 360 before I go to bed to prevent the dust from accumulating and I plan to vacuum the 360 twice a week...It's fans are quieter now

to me it was the other way around. the game was too easy and didnt really take skills online that is wy i went back to play halo 3j-killer-316

I tried going back to halo but i noticed halo 3's slower framerate even more after playing cod 4...and don't give me that "the human eye can't see passed 30 fps...well theres a reason why monitors have a refresh rate of 72 hz to be flicker free...because yes the human eye can see the flicker.

I tried a few changes - set custom size to 4598, press ctrl-F11 and tick all original ac3/dts audio options and click enable advanced audio options.

if you have windows media player 11 setup to stream to your xbox 360 copy this avi file (download here - http://www.4shared.com/file/51848339/33bdded9/test.html) to your My Videos folder and play it on your xbox 360

I heard that you can listen to anything in the zune library for a monthly fee. please start one for xbox live's video marketplace...it is silly to only get to watch a $3 movie fro 24 hours. I wouldn't mind paying MS points for an 'all you can watch' fee for one month

I have been streaming avi movie files to my xbox 360 but only get stereo. the xbox 360 can stream avi files with 5.1 audio but it depends on how the movie is converted. I found this free program called Autogk that can convert DVD's (retail or not) into xvid avi with the 5.1 audio.

first you have to rip DVD main movie files to your PC's HDD with DVD decrypter or DVD shrink. ripping the DVD's main movie files will give you vob files and an IFO file in a Video_TS folder

usng AutoGK ver 2.45 (download here) , convert the vob file into avi. (note: there is no need to install K-lite mega pack or any other codecs like the download link says. my videos converted successfully without the mega pack, autogk installs the needed codecs)

start autogk
step 1 - For Input File, provide the path to the Video_TS folder that you ripped previously, choose the IFO file. a window will pop-up prompting you to select PGC. select the PGC with the longest duration (this is the movie). Now choose the Output File. I usually target the movie file under my documents.

step 2 - The Audio track dialog box should have the AC3 audio track checked. There may be other tracks for commentary or other languages. Be sure you checked the AC3 stream with language you want.

step 3 - Selecting Output size
For streaming to the xbox 360 you want one file. So use the custom size option.

If the movie is over 2 hours (ie. Lord of the Rings Trilogy) then set the value to 1399
If the movie is over 3 hours (ie. King Kong) then set the value to 2099

step 4 - click the Advanced settings
click auto width
for the output audio type choose Original (AC3/DTS/MPA only) for the 5.1 audio track
codec set to xvid

step 5 - click add job, click start. in 2-3 hours avi with 5.1 sound will be ready

step 6 - make sure you have windows media player 11, configure sharing (tools -> options -> library -> configure sharing -> share my media to -> xbox 360 (console should be on for detection) set to allowed)

copy your new avi file to My videos folder. In My videos folder right click the avi file and click 'add to windows media playlist'. wmp 11 should start playing the video. stop video.

in the xbox 360 dashboard go to media blade -> video. press x to change video source. choose your computer. open my videos folder. play your avi file with 5.1 audio
