@oddsnake: See that’s the tough part for me. You’re right. Gaming can be very negative if an adult isn’t keeping a kid active and responsible in other things. That’s just good parenting. Teaching youth to have a broader group of activities for well-roundedness or whatever. But, we all know adults that let games distract the kids way too much so they can go off and play whatever too. Sometimes those parents are huge gamers themselves struggling with responsibility.
It’s like anything else in life that could be a negative or positive, too little or too much of.
So, yeah, you make great points that apply to everything in life. Moderation is the key to learn.
@bigcrusha: I kind of understand a little of where they’re coming from since I once did have a gaming addiction in my younger years. But, your comment has a lot of excellent points. I now am addicted to riding my motorcycle over video games but much for the same reasons you pint out.
So, does that mean I am negatively affected by either when they really are the same? Nope. Huge positives in my lifetime with both. Everybody has a hobby, a thing, a something that they can’t put down, love so much, that they want it as much as possible.
Triggers=key to any and everything in life bad and good.
“In its’ current state”, absolutely can’t stand this long trend now with some of the big name games coming out fairly bare boned. Especially if they price it the same as a game sitting next to it, say Fallout 4, which is loaded with things to do, interact with, and explore.
I was excited somewhat prior to release but just can’t buy something that has let down what the Fallout series, or any big name series, built up. We have an expectation from the prior games. If the new doesn’t come close to what we expect, somebody didn’t give a damn about actually building something good for the customer.
The PS4 is easily the best system to own if you’re into Single Player, which I am. Xbox1 along with too many developers are leaving money on the table when they leave the SP out or briefly and weakly inserted some form of it in. This game is an absolute buy! Looks like a fresh idea that this generation hasn’t approached at all. Perfect!
Oh and I agree with others who don’t want to know much at all ahead of time about this game. I can wait for release! Just knowing that it’s coming is enough.
Beware folks, this is absolutely not for single player gamers! You’ll get smoked by any group of four or more. So, don’t go in thinking you’ll be enjoying some single player in between multiplayer.
Moderate sales and the game will be fairly vacant after 6 months!
@vgdork: Absolutely agree! Plenty of friends but when it comes to game time, solo for some peace! I see the friends plenty enough in the real world. My gaming time exist only to get quietly lost in an imaginary world without having to listen to real people or talk the whole time.
