The problem with Chris Buffa's review was that he played on Easy, and didn't finish the first act. You will know this based on his review and the comments. In the comments, one person wrote:
It's fairly obvious the reviewer didn't even clear the first act of the game. Look at the following quotes from the review: "A guy will run into him, scope out the scene and then leave. OctoCamo doesn't obscure Snake's head, so it makes no sense why enemies would run into a mostly invisible object and find nothing strange about it." SPOILER: You get the Octocamo mask right after beating the first boss. Also, the only time in which the enemies won't see you upon bumping into you is: a) When your camo index is 99% (only possible with the mask) b) If you're playing on Easy. The review was playing on EASY and DIDN'T BEAT THE FIRST BOSS. So much for journalistic integrity. Also: "Confusing commercials that play between acts raise question marks" The 'commercials' only play before the first act. Between the other acts you watch Snake smoking a cigarette for a few moments. Let me reiterate: This reviewer did not bother even finishing the first act before writing his review. Usually, respectable game reviewers mark this sort of thing as "First impressions".
Afterwards, Chris "Buffoon" Buffa had the nerve to edit his review, adding, "He picks up additional camo along the way that makes him even more invisible, but that doesn't justify seeing his head exposed through Act 1. It looks silly."
The guy has no integrity, and GameDaily has no integrity by keeping a guy like tihs. Perhaps his inner fanboy has overtaken his sense of integrity? Or was it the money?
