@Shelledfade1: Just to be clear, the graphics card companies aren't the ones boosting the prices. The demand is so high that as soon as the cards are available in store or online they're snapped up at MSRP, and then many are relisted at premium prices. They get away with it because the crypto miners are willing to pay the higher costs, while gamers are stuck in a rough spot.
@banhammer: Miners are idiots, but they're not morons (lol). A mining optimized chip wouldn't be that big of a boost over the standard GPUs, so most of them won't pay the extra premium when they could just buy more graphics cards instead.
@Bond_Villain: That's not an applicable analogy because these are optional story changes that will only appear if you pursue them. Don't want to engage in same gender relationships? Don't pick the dialog options with a giant heart next to them.
@clmike: Fail to see how the agenda is "being shoved down your throat", since it's just an additional *option* for the storyline.
I do agree that we don't necessarily want developers caving to every consumer whim, but in this case I think it's a legit case where the option makes sense in line with the character, and it wasn't included out of the box because the developers just didn't consider it or were rushed to get the game out for release.
@REDShadowG: Most likely their shop is lacking *because* of their lack of DRM. Not all developers/publishers are trusting enough that people won't steal their stuff.
They're definitely a long ways away from having a library to match Valve's. Whenever given the choice, I'll always resort to GoG first, though.
@mem: California currently has 3 cellphone related laws. 1) No use of handheld phones while driving. 2) No use of hands free phones by drivers under the age of 18. 3) No texting while driving, which includes writing, sending, and reading text messages, IMs, and e-mails.
Apparently they don't feel the laws are tight enough to cover games.
Seeing as how the chances that anyone will ever see your work are super low, I don't really feel like this will be a big issue. It's like creating a brand new account on Facebook and posting a photo in the hopes that someone will randomly find it and Like your post.
@MMX377: The original Superman is now the official Superman again.
The DC universe got reset in the Flashpoint event, at which point they followed a somewhat younger Superman in a more skeptical world. In the Convergence event, the original Superman (the one killed by Doomsday and revived by the regeneration matrix) traveled from his now non-existent universe into the current one, bringing his wife and son with him. In recent comics, the new Superman of the current universe died, leaving the original to take over.
