I am finding that my Ps3 is not sending the 5.1 signal to my audio receiver when playing back blu-ray movies.
I get my 5.1 when playing games or DVD movies but just pro-logic on blu-ray movie playback.I've check the audio setting for the movie itself and alway have it set to 5.1.
Anyone having this problem or know of a fix?

there is a setting in the ps3 to change the optical to bitstream setting.. i have a sony 5.1 system and had to do an auto decode setting also b/c the playback was flashing my system and wouldn't play the movie sound back right.. hope that helps..
i think the optical from the ps3 needs to go to a receiver not to the tv b/c the tv should also be optical out..
i personally never heard of a tv having an optical in....
i have a mitsubishi 52'' dlp that has optical out but i use the ps3's optical out to a sony receiver..
if your tv has hdmi just use that for video/audio
This is Killzowned.x-V1CTOR-x
that is one of the funniest things i seen recently lol!!!
if you don't have a reciever that can output 5.1 then u cant... if the dvd player is stand-alone it would be optical out meaning it would need a reciever.. same as the ps3 the optical input is for out only
