@malachi: Hello, you've wandered into the entertainment section of GameSpot, which has been here for almost a decade. There's plenty of game stuff here, too.
@jaydan: Screen rides absolutely have their place! I think Toy Story: Midway Mania, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, and the new Villain Con Minions ride are all uses of good that can be done with screen rides. Even Mario Kart has a bunch of screens, but they're used in a way that makes it feel unique and exciting.
Sadly, though, I think we are near the end of the life cycle for non-IP rides. Epic Universe will have a couple in its hub, but I can't imagine Disney doing non-IP attractions going forward. At least, not in the US.
@mrbojangles25: Yeah, I'll note the corporate sponsorship is an old Disney idea that has *mostly* ended. But for a lot of older rides, it's still there. I know Test Track is about to undergo heavy refurbishment, so I wonder if it'll lose the corporate titling.
And I love that thought about the changing of the guard.
@jaydanI think that's why this new generation of park expansions is so exciting. Super Nintendo World is a living, physical world to explore. Same with Galaxy's Edge and Pandora, to different extends. I think we're finally getting to the end of the screen ride fad, which Universal championed for far too long. Immersion, interaction, and gamifying are the future.
@feral411: When I heard he was playing a Ghoul, I was afraid it'd mostly be for laughs. But as funny as this show is, his story is so heartbreaking. Love it.
