Hate to break it to you jshaas but mac osx is not the greatest OS in the world. I was a Windows user, now I own a macbook pro but run CentOS on the it since mac osx is a very limiting operating system. Apple completely has the wrong philosophy when it comes to software, which is, that they want total control. If we could compare operating systems to politics then: mac osx is a total DICTATOR linux is a total DEMOCRACY and windows is probably like a REPUBLIC
650+ (plus the cost of cpu etc) is a premium price to pay for something that is going to be obsolete within 24 months, even 400+ is too much. Yes, the pc hardware I the latest and the greatest but at what cost. Console development has come very far. UBI is developing a combat flight sims for the consoles. There are quiet a few RTS now available on consoles as well. While, fps have been around, it seems like, forever. With consoles, even the most expensive system is like 500, which would surely survive for another 3-4 years. Yes, there is a slight hit with graphics or the quality of game play (a joypad can only do so much) but in the end does it really matter? I was always a pc gammer until 3-4 years ago when my latest greatest 7800gtx still struggled with frame rates on certain titles. So I ask, why not console?
